I am old enough to remember the Socreds, Dave Barret and the NDP. The saying back then was “Who ya gonna vote for? A bunch of millionaire used car dealers or a bunch of daydreaming social workers?” This is true and I approved this message.
Well, I can definately say this election is different. No mention of trucks. No money. And no shovels. Vote wisely. Remember when Gordo got elected and eventually they closed the welfare office at Westwood and Ferry Ave? A grand re-opening scenario if a certain party wins?
This morning, I read Todd Whitcombe’s “Gaffs, laughs and the reason for it all” columin in the Prince George Citizen. He points out the goofy things that some of the Liberal candidates have said in this election campaign and then he criticizes Christy Clark for “treating a red light as a four-way stop”. He questions her judgement for this action and also for her failure to report herself to the RCMP and the Courts so that she could pay the fine that she should have occurred.
While I certainly don’t condone Christy Clark running a red light, I can’t help but wonder why Mr. Whitcombe hasn’t suggested that Adrain Dix turn himself into the RCMP and the Courts for his admitted fraud regarding his back-dated memo. Should not Mr. Whitcombe be suggesting that Mr. Dix ask for a jail sentence for fraud? Should Mr. Dix not be suggesting that Mr. Dix return to the taxpayers the $70,000.00 severance package that he collected as a result of his fraudulent actions?
We all know that Mr. Whitcombe is a Professor at UNBC and holds a position of authority and influence over our students. I find it pretty pathetic that an NDP hack such as Mr. Whitcombe has the power to influence our youth and yet he seems so unwilling to give both sides of an issue in a fair and objective manner!
I like the story on the CBC where an NDP position paper has leaked stating that they want to nationalize all independent power producers and eliminate all privately owned beer and wine stores.
And so it begins…….
Please tell me that you don’t believe every rumour you hear……OMG Adrian Dix is a Mossad agent …we are doomed…LMAO…
1. The whole point of political commentary is that it is partisan. Liberal supporters, including those on this site, often present comments about the NDP that are way out in left (??) field. Todd Whitcombe is no different than any other commenter.
2. The so called “position paper” that was “leaked” is not a position paper at all. It is a document that gave numerous possible viewpoints on the way to developing a position. Due to that it includes many opinions that would never make it into a party platform. It’s called free speech, you may possibly have heard of it. But you know that, you’re just doing what Todd Whitcombe did, presenting a partisan viewpoint.
Hart Guy, I read Mr. Whitcombe’s highly educated explanation why a dangerous industrial chemical waste product (hexafluorosilicic acid) fluoride MUST be added to our tap water. According to him this stuff makes people smarter! Since then I do not read his very sophisticated emanations any more. I have become way to smart for them.
Ammonra:” It’s called free speech, you may possibly have heard of it.”
No need for snide remarks, remember?
Quite true, I’m sorry.
PG: “Hart Guy, I read Mr. Whitcombe’s highly educated explanation why a dangerous industrial chemical waste product (hexafluorosilicic acid) fluoride MUST be added to our tap water. “
I am not a Todd Whitcombe fan by any stretch, but he said no such thing.
His position is simply that of that vast majority of the scientific community and studies that say that fluoride in the prescribed amounts has benefits and does no harm.
