Liberal Party supporters begin to gather at the Coast Inn of the North to await the vote results

Prince George, BC – Decorated in red and blue, supporters are beginning to stream into the ballroom awaiting the Liberal candidates for Prince George-Valemount and Prince George-Mackenzie…

With the polls now closed and counting underway, political veteran, Shirley Bond, and neophyte, Mike Morris, will make their way to the Coast Inn of the North a little later this evening.

It remains to be seen whether the venue will host celebratory or concession speeches, but banners in the room tout what has been the party line for the past 28-days, "Strong Economy, Secure Tomorrow."  Some of the issues facing the party in Prince George have been the controversy surrounding the much-delayed $25-million dollar Wood Innovation Design Centre, lingering anger over the HST, and concerns surrounding the proposed Northern Gateway Pipeline project.

Two result screens have been set up at the front of the room, near the stage, and two screens providing televised results are at the back of the room.

Bond is vying for her 4th term as MLA, first being elected in 2001. Morris is seeking his first term, after veteran MLA Pat Bell announced he would not be seeking re-election because of a medical concerns.

I thought the BC liberal election strategy was comical in the black kettle calling the pot black sort of variety.

Its almost like in a job interview where a person takes the strategy of turning all their weaknesses into strengths through perspective manipulation. Listening to Christy Clark lecture about deficit budgets and fiscal prudence would make for good comedy on This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Some comedy!

sore looser Eagleone?

No not really. It says something about the power of people to believe in propaganda despite the contrary facts of reality. Essentially that Christy Clark has the power to make people believe anything.

If the ndp do loose one can put full blame on their campaign team for not running a political campaign that holds the government to account and the opposing campaign to reality checks.

Eagleone,

Time for you to accept defeat and quit your whining.

The main reason the NDP lost? Dix scared the hell out of allot of people.

the ndp scare the hell out of me reguardless of the leader.

I’m a-political I’m not a supporter of any of the existing parties. I don’t support the BC liberals, but that doesn’t make me ndp.

I think a BC liberal majority is a disappointment though. I think the media and the ndp gave them a free ride and its disappointing that people didn’t think for themselves.

The ndp showed they were not ready to govern when they showed they didn’t have passion to defend this province and instead just hoped to have it handed to them. The ndp lost this election more so than then BC liberals won the election IMO. The BC liberals get the majority by default.
