Cullen Not Seeking Leadership Of BC NDP

Thursday, May 23, 2013 @ 10:28 AM
Ottawa- Nathan Cullen says he is not thinking about the leadership of the NDP in the province of BC.

Cullen says he contemplated that option a couple of years ago . " I am not trying to get a campaign going to draft Cullen", he said.

I think that Adrian Dix will need to take a full and honest look at where the party is heading going into the fall leadership review, but I am not trying to solicit support for myself.

Cullen was speaking at a media scrum this morning.

Cullen is as anti development as Dix was, so that is a smart move for him not to go into certain defeat if he became leader of the NDP provincially.

Plus, he doesn’t come from the Lower Mainland. That would be the death blow to any chances he might have to become premier

“winteriscoming”? Oh My Gosh, and I just put the snow blower away and got the lawn mower going…please tell me it is not true! :-)

Nathen Cullan would be a great choice, but I think he is better needed in Ottawa at this time. Bob Simpson however would be my first choice as leader of the opposition.

Cullen is definitely needed in Ottawa.

I believe Cullen would like to abolish the senate and yes he is definelty needed in Ottawa…. With all the scandal currently going on inside the Senate…..I would be more in favour of either getting rid of the Senate or at minimum require all Senators to be elected. Bob Simpson as leader would be change for the better for the NDP

The NDP is an old fashioned party with old fashioned ideas. They need to regroup, rethink and revive themselves, if they ever hope to be a viable alternative. Their last campaign slogan “Change for the Better” was pathetic with pathetic results. They need to come up with policies that will encourage investment and take advantage of the resources this province has to offer. Trying to create jobs and wealth on the backs of tax payers will never work and the majority of the people in this province are smart enough to see and understand this. That is why the NDP are on the side lines today. Sorry but that’s my opinion.

Provincial debt doubled, further obligations written off to be paid “later”. Who’s back will these debts be on? The taxpayers, methinks. Sorry but that’s a fact.

Cullen is the consumate “against everything about natural resource development” politician. He is also very dangerous because he is articulate and glib and paints his lies into a believable story with ease.
