Lakes District Hospital Site Parking Changes
Monday, June 10, 2013 @ 3:50 AM
Burns Lake, B.C. – More changes to take note as the Lakes District Hospital and Health Care Centre construction nears.
Changes to the hospital parking will take effect today.
During this time crews will be on site to install fencing to enclose the construction area, located north of the existing hospital.
The changes to the parking lot include:
- Closure of the current emergency entrance on the north side of the hospital. Walk-in emergency patients should enter through the main entrance.
- Creation of a dedicated ambulance driveway to allow access to the ambulance garage. There is also a new entrance to the hospital for ambulance-only on the northwest corner.
- Closure of the parking lot to the north of the hospital. Parking spaces are still available for emergency drop-off and those with valid accessible parking permits. Additional public parking spaces have been created on the south side of the hospital.
Excavation for the hospital site will start June 17th .

And this is news….why???
Because it is “new”. The parking and access will be different now than it has been for some time.
It is Burns Lake. Burns Lake operates from a different POV than PG, which operates at a different level of Toronto, which operates at a different level of London, England.
One has to consider the location when determining what is news. :-)
I like the regional aspect of this Opinion 250 site. After all, everything does not, and should not, revolve around Prince George!
Whatever Gus!
The reason it is news is because the people in and around Burns lake get some of their news from 250. This is news that directly affects them.
