Prince George, B.C.  – Two   Special Olympics Athletes  from the Prince George chapter,  are coming home   with  gold medals.

The two  were competing in the BC Provincial Powerlifting & Benchpress Championships in Vancouver on the weekend.  The event is sanctioned by the Canadian Powerlifting Union and the BC Powerlifting Association .

James Nikal bench pressed 67.5 kilos (148.8 lbs) and lifted 110 kilos (242.5 lbs) in the deadlift competition.

Diana Bramble successfully pressed 35 kilos (77.65 lbs) and lifted 62.5 kilos (137.8 lbs).

The competition was a preliminary for the Special Olympics BC Provincial Summer Games to be held in Langley July 11-13 2013.
