Family Calls for Answers in Historic Missing Person’s Case

Sunday marked the 7 year anniversary since the mother of five was reported missing. At the time, she was 45 years old.
Fort St. John RCMP launched an investigation when her disappearance was first reported. Police had been told she had not shown up for work and had not been seen or spoken to by friends or family which was out of character for Shirley. Police worked to establish a time line and determined that June 9, 2006 was the last time Shirley was seen by friends and family.
The investigation into her disappearance and at this time, foul play has not been ruled out, however the file remains as a missing person case.
Clethore’s sister, Bev says Shirley is “dearly missed by so many people, friends and family. The stress an unanswered questions has been painful for everyone. Everyday we think about her and that lauch and smile, She was so kind to everyone no matter who you were.”
The open letter to the public goes on to say “We would like to ask everyone to try and remember if they heard anything about Shirley, a comment made, anything that may help us. Please help Shirley come home , we will not give up, ever. We need to know. This heart ache will never ease without any answers, so please, think of Shirley and help bring her home. We love and miss her so much.”
The Fort St. John RCMP have exhausted numerous means of investigation and would like to strongly urge anyone with any information in relation to the disappearance of Shirley Clethore to come forward.

This should remind us all that women are murdered and and go missing women beyond the Highway of Tears. In fact there are nearly 600 murdered and missing Aboriginal women across Canada.

Too bad the Federal Government, and RCMP, do not think this situation is dire enough to be a National priority : (
Nice that a reputable international body like the United Nations thinks it is important enough, and wants to investigate! : )
