Chamber CEO Resigns

Tuesday, June 11, 2013 @ 11:59 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new CEO.

Jennifer Brandle McCall has resigned , citing “personal reasons” .  She tendered her  letter of resignation, giving the Chamber 3 months notice.

Brandle-McCall says she is not leaving Prince George, nor is she moving to a new position of employment immediately.  She tells 250 News  she is  leaving the post in order to spend more time with family. " The post is very demanding of  your time. Most of our members are  busy running their businesses, so  that means  early morning or  after hours meetings plus social events.  I have a young family, and I really need to step back ."

She  says she  is not  lending her name to any  organization or project in the City,  her priority is to take about 6 months off to reassess what she would like to do.

“It is not easy for me to leave the Chamber, an organization that has given me the opportunity to influence real change and connect to the pulse of our city.  I’m proud of the successes we’ve shared over the past three years, working to modernize the face of the Chamber while engaging members more broadly.”

Board member Dorothy Friesen who previously served as Executive Officer with the BC Northern Real Estate Board has resigned from her post as a Director, and will take on the post as CEO on an interim basis.

A search committee will be established in the coming weeks to find a replacement for Brandle-McCall.

Hope it wasn’t because of the HST that went bye bye? The C of C was in favour of it as I recollect.

A huge loss to the Chamber, Ms. Brandle McCall is a hard working and classy lady. Best wishes to her.

I concur, best wishes to Ms. Brandle McCall. I admire a woman who recognizes that her family should come first.

In my past, I have also spread myself too thin at the expense of my family to serve in a number of community groups. As my terms came due, I bowed out and allowed others to take a turn. I respect her decision.

Regarding the HST, that was the reason I left the chamber after 17 years. Too bad.

Best wishes to Ms. Brandle McCall. She is a hard working and professional lady in my dealings with her. She will do excellent in whatever lays before her
