Thunderstorms Mean Power Outages

Monday, June 24, 2013 @ 4:58 PM
Prince George, B.C.- There are several power outages outside of Prince George, likely related to the band of severe thunderstorms that have passed to the west and north of P.G.

Outages are reported in McLeod Lake, and west of P.G. in Smithers   and north of  Hazelton where there are reports of trees down on wires.

The estimated time of repairs is later this evening.

Meantime, the thunderstorm watch continues. It been upgraded to a warning for about an hour, but the worst of the storm has since bypassed Prince George.

I thought those new digital power meters would have hydro quick to respond to any outages, but no they don’t work that way. We had an outage recently and I phoned bc hydro to report it but they didnt believe me, they said i had to go confirm it with my neighbour first even though all the street lights where out. What a joke, but I do pay a lot more for power now. Nice scam.
