Prince George, BC –  Today marks 100 days out from the 2013 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run For The Cure – plenty of time to get a team together for the October 6th event at the Prince George Civic Centre.

Local Run Director, Shari MacLellan, says today’s bbq at Save-On Foods in College Height was meant to get people thinking about participating in the annual breast cancer fundraiser.  It was one of a number of similar events being held across the country today, marking the start of Paint Canada Pink Week and launching the countdown.

MacLellan says Run volunteers will be out at a number community events in the weeks ahead to encourage people to get involved.

The run is Canada’s largest single-day event in support of breast cancer research, education and awareness.

No offense to the two old gals pictured above, but it’s always struck me as funny when people are trying to raise money for cancer research or whatever, and to do that they feed people wretched food full of carcinogens.

Odd.
