Body Found in Francois Lake Not that of Missing Boater

Tuesday, July 2, 2013 @ 9:23 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The body located in Francois Lake late last week , is not that of missing boater, Sid Neville.

The remains have yet to be identified, but RCMP say due to the level of decomposition of the body, they can confirm the body is not Neville.

Neville’s family had contracted a private company from the U.S. to try and locate  his body after searches of the waters and shorelines failed to turn up any sign of him following a boating incident on June 7th

35 year old Neville was on Francois Lake with his 21 year old nephew when a storm blew up and the boat capsized. The nephew was rescued, but Neville has not yet been found.

The body discovered in the lake on Friday, does not show any immediate signs of foul play, so the matter is now in the hands of the BC Coroners Service which is trying to get a positive identification.

You got to be kidding, how many more bodies are floating around in our lakes?

Rumour has it that the lake has consumed over 80 bodies in the last 50 years. The lake is cold, that decomposition takes decades.

Was at the epicenter of it on June 7th. The body possibly could be from an incident over twenty years ago. The lake is over 800 feet deep in spots. The body sinks and since it is so cold it does not surface. the body just gets suspended in mid water. Not moving in any direction for a very long time, since there are very little current, that far down.

As of sunday, the search team was still out there.

I sure hope this family gets some closure on this and that this other body will bring some closure to another family.

So who is it? We have a right to know where our loved ones have finished up!

Check Babine lately????

Probably if they knew who it was they would say once the next of kin was notified. If you haven’t been notified then you are not the next of kin and its really none of your business at this point. And I am sure they are not going to dredge up all the lakes in BC just because of this. Maybe those 5 foot deep swamps in alta they call lakes give up bodies easy, but the deep cold lakes in BC hold their secrets better.
