Crashes and Auto Crime Down in P.G.

Prince George, B.C.- According to ICBC, the number of reported vehicle crashes in Prince George last year, was down from 2011, but still far ahead of 2010.
The latest stats show there were 4,600 crashes last year. In 2011, there had been 4,800 while 2010 saw 4100.
There is no information provided that would give any insight as to the possible factors at play that could have played a role in the changes.
The stats also make it clear there are gains being made in battling auto crime.

The reductions in auto crime are being attributed to two main factors, the RCMP’s focus on prolific offenders, and the BAIT vehicle program.
Comments
Yes the prolific offender program helps, but I would argue that the real correlation involves the rise of cars with anti theft deterrence like chip keys and build in security alarms. Long gone are the days when a truck key will fit 10 other trucks within walking distance. The manufacture companies have stepped up and the petty crime world is now locked out for the most part.
