Man’s Body Recovered In Francois Lake After Drowning in 1984

Prince George- The BC Coroners Service has now confirmed the identity of a man whose body was recovered as searchers looked for another man in Francois Lake.
The Coroner has been able to identify the man, as John Angus Mowat, of Burns Lake , who disappeared while fishing in the lake on July 13-1984. At the time his boat was recovered with a fishing rod and a freshly caught fish. His body was never recovered during a search at the time but was discovered in 175 meters of water in the latest search.
Mowat’s body was found after searches looked for another man who went missing on the lake in late June of 2013 .
