Police Seek Suspect in Attempted Sex Assault

Prince George, B.C.-  An Upland Street woman  awoke early  yesterday to find a man, with a  knife, in her  bedroom.
 
RCMP say  the woman  was able to scream and fight off the attacker and he  fled  from the scene.
 
According to police, the attack happened  around 2 yesterday morning.  Investigators beleived the man  gained entry to the residence through an open window or unlocked door.
General Duty officers were in the area at the time of the report. A Police Service Dog attended, but was unable to locate the suspect.
 
Investigators are following up of all information and are requesting help from the public to identify the suspect. The suspect is described as:
 
  • First Nations male
  • Approximately 25 years old
  • 173 cm (5’8")
  • Short hair
  • Athletic build
  • Wearing a short sleeved white shirt and dark pants
 
The victim was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
 
The investigation is continuing.
