New CEO at Spirit of the North

Jessica Aldred is leaving the post as CEO, a position she has held since September of last year. The CEO’s position had come open in June of last year when Don Gowan left to take on the role as Regional General Manager for Finning.
Aldred’s departure is said to be for personal reasons, and she intends to stay in the community.
Stepping up to take on the position of CEO is Judy Neiser. She had joined the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation in May as Strategic Relations Manager. Prior to that post, she had been the Executive Director for the Prince George Community Foundation, a position she had held since 2008.

Personal reasons could mean anything these days from being ill to simply not liking the job to someone not liking what she is doing.
In fact, I suspect that when that is given as the reason for leaving, many people will sort of say “yeah, sure” under their breath …. wink, wink …. nudge, nudge.
Why is this a position that needs such a public announcement of a change at the top that then automacially asks for a “why” amongst 23 people in the community?
Judy Neiser is great and if anyone can do a really good job it is she. She is ethical, very bright and plays extremely well with others and on top of it all she is a really nice person!
So, how much of donations must go to pay for this high end executive position and any other full and part time positions? Sure, Ms. Neiser may be very qualified but that does not take away from the fact that there may be an enormous amount paid for hired help. Consider the Winter Games crew salaries as another example of ‘public generosity’ that exists with NGO’s.
