No Tsunami Threat Following Early Morning Quake

Prince George, BC – The West Coast/Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says there is no risk of a tsunami following an early morning earthquake deep in the ocean, southwest of Prince Rupert.
The Warning Center in Palmer, Alaska says the magnitude 5.1 quake hit at just before 6am local time this morning, 193-kilometres west of Port Alice and 418-kilometres south of Prince Rupert.
The earthquake hit at a depth of 11-kilometres.
