Long Weekend Weather to be Unstable

Friday, August 2, 2013 @ 3:59 AM
Prince George, B.C. –   Heading into the long weekend,   Environment Canada Meteorologist Doug Lundquist says people should be advised the weather will be   unstable.

“There is a potential for thunderstorms this weekend as a new system moves into the Central interior of B.C. from the south. That means we could see some thunderstorms on a weekend  when a lot of people are planning outdoor activities for the weekend .”

Lundquist says the rule is simple, “When thunder roars, go indoors”. He says people also have to be reminded that when a thunderstorm hits, that is not the time to  try and fix the awning or anything else that might have been damaged by a high wind   during the storm “Your life is far more important than any piece of property”.

He says there is a potential of showers and thunderstorms throughout the long weekend.
