Prince George, BC – A search is underway on Takysie Lake, south of Burns Lake, for a Prince George man believed to have gone missing while boating on the lake.

Friends of Brett Smith (shown in photo submitted at right) say he often travelled to the region as part of his occupation as a drywaller and it’s believed he may have gone fishing at the lake.  He last made phone contact with a family member on Tuesday evening.

Prince George residents Owen Marshall and Dustin Snyder travelled to the Takysie Lake Resort this morning to assist in the search.  Family and friends have been on-hand to help local RCMP and Search and Rescue personnel in their efforts since Thursday, when an empty boat apparently floated into shore.

Smith’s friends have released his photo in the hopes that anyone who may have seen the missing 36-year-old earlier this week will contact RCMP.
