Prince George, BC – The host, Prince George LTN Contracting Knights, gave Vancouver Minor a major scare, but in the end, lost 14-11 in this morning’s semi-final at the BC Peewee Boys AAA Provincial Baseball Championships…

Vancouver was undefeated heading into this morning’s game at Spruce City Stadium, while the home team finished the round robin in second place in their pool with a 2-and-2 record.

The Knights were behind 10-2 in the fifth inning of this morning’s semi and were, in fact, very close to having the game end on mercy rule, before the team plated nine straight batters in the sixth inning to take an 11-10 lead.

Vancouver managed four runs in the bottom of the 6th to escape with the win.  The team advanced to the gold medal game, just getting underway at the Stadium, against Cloverdale.  The winner moves on to the Western Canadian Baseball Championships in Sherwood Park, Alberta.  Cloverdale beat Abbotsford 8-5 in an extra inning in the other semi.
