Crash West of Golden Injures Three Albertans

Golden, B.C. – RCMP continue investigating Saturday’s collision that occurred on the Trans Canada highway in Glacier National Park, west of Golden, BC.
 
Three people were seriously injured in the collision, all three from the Calgary, Alberta area. The two vehicles involved were pickup trucks. The occupants of the westbound truck were transported to Calgary. The driver of the eastbound pickup was transported to Kelowna.
 

Evidence located at the scene and statements from witnesses indicate that the driver of the eastbound pickup lost control of the vehicle, crossed over to the westbound lanes and collided with the other truck. The posted speed limit where the collision occurred is 70 kilometers per hour.

I’m in the Okanagan for a few days and two things jumped out at me right away:

– Wow are there ever allot of one ton trucks in Western Canada (I had forgotten how common they were)
– Wow are there ever allot of impatient and aggressive drivers in this area of the Province

Why is it that you don’t see Mercedes, BMW, Porsche or Audi sports cars driving the way that some of these morons do in their hopped up diesels, often with their 5th wheels or ski boats attached? I’m amazed that there aren’t more accidents on the road to be perfectly honest. Some of these people definitely have more money than brains.
