Grader Incident Claims Life

Monday, August 19, 2013 @ 6:00 PM
Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George RCMP, the BC Coroner’s Service and WorkSafe BC are working together on the investigation of a sudden death south of Prince George.

Just after 1:00 this afternoon emergency crews were called to the scene of a grader that was upside down and submerged off the Stone Creek Forest Service road.

Two Prince George RCMP officers and a member of the Pineview Volunteer Fire Department entered the water in an effort to rescue the grader driver from the submerged cab.

While he was pulled to shore, efforts to revive him were not successful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

There is nothing to suggest there was any foul play involved in this death.

The investigation continues.
