BCNE Gaming Grant Announced

Prince George, B.C. – The BC Northern Exhibition is one of 20 fairs or exhibitions in the province which has received a gaming grant.
The BCNE received $70 thousand dollars, the third highest amount allotted to any fair or exhibition in B.C..
Other fairs in the region to receive a gaming grant are:
- Quesnel Fall Fair – $10,000
- Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede – $22,000
- Bulkley Valley Exhibition – $30,000
- Lakes District Fall Fair (Burns Lake)- $16,500
In all, $689,000 in gaming grants were allotted to fairs and exhibitions in B.C.

Meanwhile the local casino alone takes in about a 100 times as much as is given out as gaming grants for the whole province….
One hundred times would be $68.9million.
You probably mean to say that it is 100 times the grants given to fairs and exhibitions.
There are gaming grants given out for many other things.
What is your point?
Did I miss the reporting of the attendance at this year’s BCNE?
That’s close enough Gus… the last figures I have for Treasure Cove Casino here in PG was $77.3 million in revenue in 2007. So I guess we could say they collected 110% (in 2007) as much in revenue from PG alone… as they distributed in gaming funds for the whole province (in 2013).
I guess my point is that in times past the fair had their own successful bingo fund raiser that collect something like 5 times as much as they are ‘given’ now. Its not like the gaming community are really giving us anything, but a monopoly on gaming funds for distribution.
