Prince George, B.C.- The pink, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation flag is now flying over City Hall in Prince George.

September has been declared “Canadian Breast Cancer Run For the Cure Month” in Prince George, as there are just 30 days before the annual fundraising event kicks off at the Prince George Civic Plaza.

Last year, the event, which features 1km and 5 km walk  or run,  raised more than $105 thousand dollars for breast cancer research, education and awareness, early   diagnosis and effective treatment.

The “CIBC Run for the Cure” is the largest, singe day volunteer led fundraising event for breast cancer in Canada.

This year will mark the 22nd   year for the run, which will start with   opening ceremonies at 9:30 Sunday, October 6th at the Prince George Civic Centre Plaza.
