Prince George, BC – Miraculously, no one was injured in crash that saw a pick-up truck careen through a backyard and smash into a home in the Pinewood neighbourhood overnight.
RCMP traffic investigators remain on the scene, after reports of the crash came in at approximately 2am this morning. The vehicle had been travelling along Ospika Boulevard when it left the road, ploughed through a vacant lot and catapulted into the home on James Drive, after hitting the back deck.
Unbelievably, no one had to be transported to hospital following the acrobatic crash.
Analysts are awaiting daylight to complete their examination of the scene. Charges against the driver of the high-flying vehicle are anticipated.

Ummm charges are anticipated? Lol!
Hopefully it’s not Dads new truck
Speed may have been a factor.
James Place is way up from Ospika at the end of Pinewood, right all the base of the hill. Was this on James Drive instead?
*along :)
Had this happen a few years back to a home owner I know. The driver got charged 6 points for undue care and attention. ICBC will pay the bill on this home, and in turn pay the home owner insurance company. ICBC will then sue the driver for the cost of the repairs.
Dodge!
Swerved to miss a duck maybe?
I think that damage to the truck can be “buffed” out. Ha ha ha
DODGE…
Don’t Over Drive Go Easy
I wonder if this is connected to the fact that there was a James Bond marathon on the TV just the other day.
Is the speed sign at the bottom of the hill in operation again? If that is the case then maybe a few kids were out “high marking”(x_x)
Dropped from a helicopter ….
Any idiot can obtain a driver’s license, the operator of this pickup is proof of that.
metalman.
If this was a sports car, the driver would stand accused of street racing. I bet this guy just refused to lift until waaaay to late before the s-curve and paid dearly. Buddy just kept on going and he sleeping it off at home by now..laughing.
The level of vitriol being directed at the driver is surprisingly mild on here, compared to what he would have faced if he dared to drive down Ospika on a 4-wheeler endangerging only himself.
Lesson here is that cartwheeling trucks driven by drunk street racers are of a lesser concern than the need to exercise the nanny-state attitude toward recreational vehicles.
How fast do you have to go to have the rear end of the truck in the house. Yikes. Wouldn’t be surprised to see an N on the back either.
*insert goat truck joke here*
“ICBC will pay the bill on this home, and in turn pay the home owner insurance company. ICBC will then sue the driver for the cost of the repairs.”
If there was enough insurance on the truck, then ICBC will pay the full cost without getting money from the driver unless h purposely drove into the house (which I am certain is not the case). If he was street racing, not sure if the insurance rules are different.
Sssoooo… do you think I passed the parallel parking portion of my drivers test?
I hope the readout from the Trucks Computer will show the Speed at the time the Airbag deployed , you can do this on all new Vehicles.
Hey moose, probably not an ‘N’, they are all ‘Z’s on the back of every vehicle I see around town
There was almost another nasty accident there this morning the police had the southbound lanes closed rubberneckers in the northbound lanes almost crashed into other vehicles and in case a retard was leaning out the drivers side window stopped and was taking pictures while traffic was doing their best to avoid him.
I was one of the smart rubber neckers I pulled onto a side road then walked to the scene.
We have some idiot in a very noisy truck who likes to race around the Hart late at night in the Vellencher Road area. Hate to wish bad things on anyone, but couldn’t help hoping that he took a trip down Ospika last night. Hmmm, maybe things will be a bit quieter tonight!
Seems we have another new batch of young compensating lads with over sized pickups that enjoy flying down Ospika. Seen them lately on North Ospika, driving like idiots, stereos cranked up enough to wake the dead. Just a matter of time before they lose it on a corner and take out joggers, cyclists or the couples out walking there little ones in strollers.
Have called the RCMP on several occasions to do a radar check in the area, but it seems they have too many other things to do than ensure public safety. Not like we haven’t had more than enough accidents in the area where speed (and stupidity) were an issue.
Are an issue….apparently buddy tried to flee the scene last night too, with an injured passenger left behind….just the kind of driver they should ban for life!
DPJ – if driver was found to be drunk then his insurance is void and ICBC will go after him.
You can’t get blood out of a stone peegee. So guess who pays?
For him to leave an injured passenger is just one terrible thing to do!!!
Might enhance his chances of joining the monster truck circuit.
nonon: “For him to leave an injured passenger is just one terrible thing to do!!!”
I wish I can say it’s the first time I’ve heard of this happening, but sadly, it’s not.
peegee – Did not know about that. Makes sence.
