Kamloops B.C.- Dan Brooks has announced he is in the running for the leadership of the BC Conservatives.
The Vanderhoof born Brooks says he believes it will be rural and northern voters who will choose the next leader of the party.
"My campaign will focus on developing and being a strong voice for those British Columbians who believe that their interests are not being heard or represented in the corridors of power."
Brooks was the BC Conservative candidate for the Nechako Lakes riding in the May election. He received 12.6% of the popular vote.
The BC Conservatives are heading into their 2 day Annual General Meeting in Vernon tomorrow.
The leadership convention is set for next April.
