New Record High Temp Today
Thursday, September 12, 2013 @ 4:13 PM

At 4 this afternoon, the temperature was 29.1 and could inch up a little more before it settles to the official new mark.
The old record of 28.2 was set on this date in 2009.
The normal temperature for this time of year in Prince George is in the 17 degree mark.
The high pressure system that is responsible for this unexpected and unusual weather, is predicted to be with us for the weekend, but clouds, cooler temps and possible showers are expected Monday.

Yahoo..”Here comes the sun” and I have the weekend off…..
Hopefully contnues for a while longer. Been working alot and have not enjoyed it much.
This is the best summer I can remember in ages. And, no smoke either.
Well until they light up the practice forest fire in Vanderhoof. Dumcoffs! Can you imagine?
Too bad they don’t take the official temperatures for Prince George in P.G. itself instead of at the airport. There is usually a two or three degree difference.
Yes another beautiful global warming day here in the interior. Think I will go out to my backyard and plant a couple of coconut and banana trees ;-)
We used to get warm summers like this in pg all the time years back. Of coarse the winters where nasty.
Hot dry summers AND mild winters. Sounds like climate change scenario 6 to me. Just sayin
Bug check out the weather they just had in south America, far from warm.
X-it has it right. Long hot summers and very cold winters used to be the norm in the Prince George area, in the 40’s 50’s and 60’s.
It will be interesting to see what kind of a winter we get this year. If it drops to -40 for a few weeks in January and February like it used to, some people are in for a big shock.
High sunspot activity equals nice weather. This isn’t new it’s been going on for millennia. I believe the sunspot activity peaks at the end of this year or next.
I like it!
metalman.
The suns activity is the lowest its been in a hundred years. Low activity means cold. The little ice age corresponded with activity this low. Global mean temperatures have shown a slight decline since 2005 and should show a more rapid decline over the next couple of years.
Low activity means not as many sunspots as the previous 11 year cycle. We are at the end of the sun spot cycle so we should be seeing cooler temperatures.

Why should they show a more rapid decline? Besides, year-to-year fluctuations are irrelevant in contrast to the general upward trend of the atmosphere and, far more importantly, the temperature of the oceans where about 94% of the global heating is occurring. Hence wilder fluctuations in local temperature and other weather phenomena.
Seamutt, I wish you were correct about the earth cooling, but unfortunately, you’re not.
DPJ………I feel sad for you all that work and no play……hopefully you get some time off to enjoy…:)
Krusty no warming for over 17 years, computer models did not see that coming.
