Prince George, BC – Trail Smoke Eaters’ netminder, Dustin Nikkel, proved to be a wall the Prince George Spruce Kings couldn’t break through last night as they fell 4-2, despite outshooting Trail 48-29.
The Spruce Kings went 0 for 8 on the power play, while the Smokies were able to capitalize on the man advantage twice. Goalie Alex Murray took the loss for the Kings.
Trail led 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 after 40-minutes, before Bryant Christian scored in front of 917 hometown fans at the Coliseum at 9:54 of the third. Christian assisted on Jake LeBrun’s goal just over two minutes later.
With the loss, Prince George sits at 2-3-0-and-1. The team hits the road for a game in Coquitlam next Friday night.
