Prince George, BC – It is the first day of fall and the day will be a cool one to mark the transition…
Environment Canada is call for rain later this morning, with the high to reach just 10-degrees.
Normal temperatures at this time of year are highs in the range of 16-degrees, with lows of about 4.
The hottest September 22 on record for the region was in 1987, when the mercury climbed to 27.3-degrees, while the coldest was -8.9 back in 1955.
The most snow fell in 1958 – 2.8-centimetres of the white stuff. And, let’s hope today’s rain is nowhere near the record 32.5-millimetres that fell in 1963.
While today and tomorrow will be gray days, the sunshine will return by Wednesday and Thursday with highs of 14 and 15 expected.
The overnight low on Thursday is expected to drop to the freezing mark.
Friday will see the clouds move back in with a chance of showers.
The autumnal equinox means the days will grow shorter. The sun rose this morning, just a short time ago at 6:57am.
It will set this evening at 7:10pm
Happy fall, everyone.
