City To Take a Shot at Hosting NCLGA in 2015

Monday, September 23, 2013 @ 6:35 PM
Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George is going to make a bid to host the 2015 North Central Local Government Association  meeting.

Councilor Wilbur says this event would be one more event aimed at celebrating the City of Prince George’s centennial. The last time the City hosted the annual convention was 2008. “I really think it is an opportunity” says Wilbur. He says this is not the kind of event that will see anyone “holding the financial bag” that it is paid for through sponsorship.

According to Wilbur, every NCLGA convention has resulted in profits for the NCLGA. He says hosting the event right after the Canada Winter Games would allow the opportunity for other communities to “go ga ga” over new  facilities that are part of the Winter Games Legacy.

Wilbur says while the event is somewhat of an economic driver, as some 300 delegates would be in hotels, and that would create a good opportunity for restaurants and retail.
Council voted unanimously to support submitting a bid to host the NCLGA.

I think this entire council has gone “ga ga”. Bunch of zombies. So which facilities are we PGers gushing about? The WIDC? The RCMP museum?

Where’s Gomer Pyle?

You have to ask

What type of lawyer was Dave Wilbur ? Certainly hope he never represented anyone in a court of law.
