Prince George, B.C. – For the second night in a row the Prince George Spruce Kings came from behind to score another road victory in the B.C. Hockey League.
Trailing 1-0 after one period in Chilliwack, the Kings got a second-period power play goal from Skylar Pacheco and an unassisted marker from Jake LeBrun just over halfway through the third to edge the Chiefs 2-1. The Spruce Kings came
from two down Friday night to edge Coquitlam 3-2.

The Chiefs went ahead on a power play goal at 19:20 of the first, a period in which they outshot Prince George 13-10. The Kings took 3 minors, the Chiefs two. A couple of minutes into the second LeBrun put one into the Chilliwack goal and it looked like the game was tied. However, the back referee had lost sight of the puck and had blown his whistle just before LeBrun’s shot. No goal. However Pacheco tied the game up at 5:29 on the power play. The Kings outplayed the Chiefs in that frame and outshot them 19-8. Two minors and a fighting major for the Kings, three minors and a major for Chilliwack.
The Spruce Kings went into the third shorthanded and goaltender Alex Murray made a huge, highlight reel save off Jaret Babych to keep the game tied at one. And, after having that second period goal taken away, Jake LeBrun scored the winner, his eighth of the season, unassisted at 11:31. That’s the way it ended, 2-1 Spruce Kings. They ended up outshooting Chilliwack 39-30 on the night.
So the Prince George boys have a 4-3-0 and 1 record on the season and look to make it a 3-game sweep when they head back to Coquitlam for a 2pm start on Sunday. It’ll be tough, playing three games in two-and-a-half days, but they’ve gutted it out to take the first two this weekend.
