Prince George, B.C. – The 2015 Canada Winter Games Society has selected three key members of the Games’ Medical Services Team. All three have experience with athletes at top level competitions.

 

Dr. Janet Ames  has been named Chief Medical Officer, she will be responsible for overall Medical Services of the Games. With a private practice in Orthopaedic and Sport Medicine, Dr. Ames was a member of the host medical staff for curling at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the CMO for the Canadian Health Care Team at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and was a member of the medical team for the Kamloops 1993 Canada Summer Games.

 

Chief Therapist for the Games will be Brian Ferrance. Most recently, he served as an Athletic Therapist with the Halifax 2011 Canada Winter Games and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

 

Joanne Archer will be the Head Nurse. She served as a member of the Athletes’ Medical Team from the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, BC.

 

The trio will now start developing a medical services plan and will recruit members of the medical team for the 2015 Games.
