Lost Mushroom Picker Did Not Die Alone

Terrace, B.C. – A missing mushroom picker who survived for two weeks in the bush stayed with his friend until he died, then made the decision to forge on.
Police say 26 year old Ike Murray and 32 year old Michael Devlin Sabo became lost early on in their ordeal. The two hunkered down in an area that was not part of a massive search effort to find the pair. After seven days, they decided to hike out but Sabo soon lost the strength to continue on. Ike stayed with Devlin until his death.
Murray managed to hike for two more days before he made it to the railway tracks and was found by CN workers.
Terrace Search and Rescue were able to locate Sabo’s body Wednesday morning six kilometres up Fiddler Creek near the Skeena River.
“Our condolences go out to the Sabo family. It was very important that we find Devlin to bring closure to this tragic set of events, says Constable Angela Rabut,” Community Policing/Media Relations Officer with the Terrace RCMP.
The matter has now been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.

sad story, but Mr. Murray sounds like an amazing friend for what he did.
