You Say Leave Anthem Alone

Prince George, B.C. – The results of the 250News non scientific poll about changing the lyrics of the Canadian National anthem are very close.
The results show 51.1% (1944) support making the lyrics gender neutral by replacing “in all thy sons command” with “in all of us command”.
48.9% (1858) don’t want the lyrics changed.
Those who are advocating a change, say the movement isn’t to replace the two words, but to restore the National Anthem to its original gender neutral intent. The original words were “thou dost in us command".
The anthem was changed in 1913, a time when recruits were being sought for the First World War.

Colour me reactionary, but the headline doesn’t match the poll results.
The hardline is completely contradicted by the story.
hardline –> headline
Aren’t there better things we have to do with our spare time, this is a total waste of time, and taxpayers money. So leave this alone, and get on with more important matters. Like feeding the unemployed, and creat some bloody jobs. But most important being get the troops home, and don’t bow to the war mongers of the U.S.A.
If these results were not verified by IP addresses the final report on this poll is inaccurate. How do I know? Well, I must confess I was experimenting and was able to cast SEVERAL votes. :-P
So, Ben and Elaine may wish to correct the poll link so we can’t skew results.
;)
Uturn: taxpayers money???
commoner: “non scientific poll”. READ the first line again. Slowly.
Yup, taxpayers money. Who do you think is going to pay the millions of dollars it is going to cost to change our national anthem, the Chinese?
