I was sure this also happened this spring also. I live in Willow River and it seems to have taken a few lives over the years. Very sad story, I wonder if this was up at the Highway 16?
It’s such a fast river that all it would take is a slip near the wrong spot and it would be very difficult to recover. Sad to hear of news like this in what was almost surely a pure accident.
I think the Willow has taken more lives than any other river in the Prince George region. It has really bad log jam holes. I know its had its share of multiple death canoe accidents over the years. The Willow is just not the kind of river one should be canoeing but people still try it.
Maybe a memorial rock statue should be put there with all the names of the people who have passed due to the river maybe it make people think b4 venturing into the willow
