Cariboo Cougars Need Wins

Saturday, October 26, 2013 @ 3:45 AM
Prince George, B.C. – The Cariboo Cougars will try to turn things around this weekend with a road trip to Chase for a pair of games against the winless Thompson Blazers.

The Cougars (3-5-0) kicked off this BC Major Midget League season with three straight victories but have dropped five in a row and need to get out of their funk. However, head coach Bryan MacLean expects the Blazers (0-6-2) to provide some stiff competition. “We played them in exhibition, they’re a competitive team, they work hard,” MacLean said.

The coach says his club needs victories. “We’ve got to find a way to end this thing. We can’t give up any points this weekend, looking at where we’re at in the standings.” The Cariboo Cougars are currently in eighth place.

The first game of the weekend goes tonight at 6 at the Chase Art Holding Memorial Arena. The Cougars and Blazers tangle again Sunday morning at 11.

Last season the Cougars swept all four games against the Blazers.
