Houston, B.C. – The Houston RCMP are investigating a suspicious incident which occurred last night on the Morice West Forest Service Road near Houston.
At 11:00 this morning, Houston RCMP received a report of an incident of willful damage at the protest site of the Unistoten First Nations, at the 66 km mark of the Morice West Forest Service Road.
Witnesses told police they heard a loud bang coming from the far end of the Morice River bridge at around 10:30 Monday night. They told police they saw flames and observed a vehicle leaving the area.
Investigators determined several plastic containers, containing a flammable liquid, had been placed up against a large protest placard which had been in place in front of the bridge. The containers were then ignited. The only damage incurred was scorching to the placard.
There were no injuries, nor was there any damage to the bridge deck.
The Houston RCMP continue their investigation into the incident and urge anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them at 250-845-2204 or Crimestopper at 1-800-222-8477.

The only thing we scalp these days are tickets.
Anyone want some good seats at the Cougars games?
When I finished reading the story I was left with DPJ’s second comment. Likely someone protesting the native protest, in a very dangerous manner… someone could have got seriously hurt.
Careful Racer you’ll have those with permanently implanted rose colored glasses personally attacking you.
What was wrong with my second comment? Sure the first one I see why it was removed but not the second one!!!
