Prince George, BC – Two occupants of a home on Fir Street managed to get out safely after a fire broke out in the attached garage just before noon.
Prince George Fire Rescue Assistant Chief, Drew Larsen, says there was one occupant living on the main floor and a second living in the basement of the residence in the 16-hundred block of Fir Street. Both were able to make their own way out.
Fire fighters were able to contain the fire to the garage, but an early estimate pegs the damage in the $50-thousand dollar range. The garage was full of storage containers.
While Assistant Chief Larsen says there is nothing suspicious at this time, fire investigators have been called in to pinpoint an exact cause of the blaze.
