Friday Free For All, – Nov. 8th, 2013
Friday, November 8, 2013 @ 12:00 AM
The snow has arrived, the shoveling has begun.
The week is wrapping up under a coat of white ( and slush) but not before we open the gates for an avalanche of thoughts.
It is time for the FRIDAY FREE FOR ALL.
You pick the topic, but please, obey the simple rules:
Keep it clean
Keep it legal
No bullying ( and that means no name calling or belittling those who do not share your opinion)
O.K. Folks……

Have a great weekend everyone.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Have a safe and happy Friday and week end everyone. Careful on those slippery roads.
Request:
If you come across a vehicle crash while travelling on the highway, stop and see if anyone needs help or if there is even anyone in the vehicle, before phoning 911.
There are too many emergency calls being made for car accidents where the driver & passengers have left the scene, or when emergency assistance is not even required. These calls tie up the services of first responders, fire fighters, ambulance drivers and attendants, and police.
If you do report an accident, please try to pinpoint the exact location, it makes for quicker response time. Thank you.
metalman.
I am not understanding that.
A crash on the road, involving one or more vehicles with obvious substantial damage standing in the middle of the highway and there is no one in the vehicle(s) and there is no one else stopped …. do not call 911? Why not?
Same on the side of the road, not obviously moved there and abandoned …. why not?
Worse still …. off the road in a hard to get to location to check for passenger(s)…. why not?
Would it not be prudent for people to leave some sort of sign that they have been picked up by someone and have left their vehicle as they were driven home or to the hospital? Would the driver who picked up anyone from the crash not be phoning the authorities to explain the vehicle left after a crash?
I think the advice not to call 911 is dangerous as it is written and needs to have some more detail attached to it as to when to call and when not to call.
I have to agree with you on one point Gus… if I came upon an accident and no one could be seen who am I to assume there is no one in the ditch somewhere that I can’t see? 911 can take the call and let them determine how high on the emergency scale it rates.
If I come to an accident and people are mulling around and they tell me all is good, then a non-emergency call would be in order ….
have a great weekend all…
and thoughful Rememberance Day
“Lest we forget”
sub note to above… if the police have been to an accident site they usually ribbon the vehicles, indicating they are aware of the site…
And please, please, please, if you stop for an emergency, put your four way flashers on right away, for everyone’s safety!
Take care out there, remember you are driving amongst a lot of people who really shouldn’t have licenses!
Changing the subject , What ever happened to the Cuban ball player that defected ?
Sherry is going to personally fly to Cuba to see if he can stay. While there she is going to see if any cities want to be sisters with PG.
Thanks to Telus for the new cell tower on Cowart rd, does anyone know if this thing is turned on yet?
Askum, it was my understanding that player was ‘relocated’ very quickly to a southern State and is playing ball down there now.
so the rumours say.
Good morning,
I am new to this, so please forgive any blunders i may make.
A friend recently informed me that rental property owners must get a business licence next year, and while i can understand that it is a business for some it just feels like another cash grab by the city.
I am so tired of this administration raising taxes, utilities, adding new fees every corner i turn.
Changing bylaws, selling park land, a certain councellor not paying his taxes, the mayor off to China while city employees are neogiating a contract. Not soon enough we will be voting again, and i hope to god things change before i’m looking under my couch pillows for $1.69. Not for a cheese buger but another city fee.
On another topic. Anyone know anything about an ammendment to the city business liscence demanding all rental units have one?
Posing a question to those who may have better knowledge than myself….
Six months ago, the Auditor General said that $3.1 billion dollars were “unaccounted for” from the 12.9 billion set aside to combat terrorism. Nobody knows where it went and Tony Clement was only able to “assure us” that it was spent appropriately. (wink wink nudge nudge).
I can’t find a single news story since then that clarifies this accounting debacle. Does anybody else know?
Seems odd to me that this story just vanished into thin air, yet people are going ape (justifiably) over what Wallin and Duffy spent.
Have a fun and safe long weekend. I’m coming home to PG for a family visit. I’m curious to see the new RCMP building so that I can get a sense of what everybody is whinging about.
He signed for 6yrs, $68 million with the White Sox. Worth the risk…I think so
http://www.havanatimes.org/?p=99490
Pylot (IMHO) my best paranoid guess is that part went to an internal spy program to monitor Canadians to keep track of those that oppose the conservatives and part went to digging up their histories looking for info that can be used to discredit or silence those people. And of course part went to
He signed for 6yrs, $68 million with the White Sox. Worth the risk…I think so
http://www.havanatimes.org/?p=99490
Be careful out there everyone.. First snowfall is never fun for anyone. Drive safe
Seems like we are getting all kinds of questions today and not a lot of answers…so here’s another one.
Can anyone tell us what happened to the welcome to PG Structure/sign on Hwy 97 south. Why was it removed? Where did it go?
Just curious.
I don’t have to go to China like Chief Green does. I can just go to Walmart.
Thanks Rumrunner for the Cuban ball player info .Seems the young fella will be OK.
And thanks NoWay for taking care of the facetious comment on Sherry for me today .
Harbinger …. Walmart’s goods may be made in China but that does not make them Chinese. They are manufactured for the North American Market.
If ever in Vancouver, go to the Aberdeen Centre which will put you in the 5% or less minority ethnic group immediately. Also, make sure to bring you wallet with lots of cash since it is marketing to a very high income group. The new âChinatownâ is quite different from the quaint old versions in the large metro areas of North America.
If you want to get a bit of an intro go to the link and click on âvideoâ http://www.aberdeensquare.com
The Yoahan Centre is right next to it; a large store primarily known for its food outlets serving Chinese and Japanese cultures.

I notice that they have the westbound lanes of 5th avenue closed of at the WDIC building so that they can take delivery of more wood. The site is a bit on the tight side given the type of construction which uses massive numbers of prefabricated wood panels and columns and beams.
They would not be able to do that in the downtowns of larger cities.
It is just that we are so business accommodating and friendly. In any other city they would have had to rent the adjacent surface parking during the construction period. Here, they get to use the road whenever they want to.
The main floor small lecture theatre is visible now. All wood panel construction as well. The stair and elevator shafts are into the second story.

Drive safely everyone. The first snowfall is always the worse. It seems that it always catches people off guard for some strange reason. That always baffles me, especially when they warm people for a few days before it snows. There are always accidents on the first snowfall of the season.
Over the last 2 snowfalls in Calgary in the last 2-3 weekends, there were over 280 accidents. These snowfalls were predicted to within half a day. The first snowfall still caught people off guard.
Please slow down and drive safely. It is better to arrive a little late than not getting there because of an accident. Or better yet, stay off of the roads if it is too treacherous.
Have a good and safe winter.
I did not know until yesterday that CUPE had a 5 year instead of 3 year contract with the City. I am not sure why, but it may have been to get around a 4% ask for the last of a 3 year contract.
So, the contract goes back to 2008, which puts it into the Kinsley Council era. The gift he gave them, and the expense he saddled us with, in the middle of a recession at that time, is a 3% increment for each of the 5 years…..
Rationale? …. “everyone” else got it in the municipal governments.
So, I say a 0%, 0%, and 1% deal would be quite adequate.
The pay schedule increments are posted here.

I would like to thank the owners of the building downtown that houses the PG Sewing Centre for the upgrade to that building. Looks good. I hope more downtown building owners decide to upgrade the exteriors of their buildings.
Why is there no transit on Remembrance Day? Why can’t they offer a shuttle before and after the ceremony the way they do for Canada Day to Fort George Park? Would hope for a bit more respect for our veterans. Not everyone drivers in this town.
“Why is there no transit on Remembrance Day?”
Because we do not have a fully functioning transit system. Someone, in their so-called wisdom, has decided that holiday transit cannot be subsidized because the subsidy is too high. (or something like that …. maybe … who knows).
Best thing is to ask the people in charge of transit. The are great at giving bureaucratic answers …..
Opine. Good question.
That sign when originally built, with all the logs, labour, granite etc; etc; probably cost us around $250,000.00.
When they started the doubling of 97 South the sign, logs, etc; were ripped up and thrown to the North of the original location. Eventually it just disappeared.
My guess is that it was eventually destroyed. Only the City would know for sure. If it was, then soon they will be in the process of building a new one,. If not then they will pay huge dollars to resurrect the old one.
In any event one would have thought that they would not put up the (expensive) sign until the road expansion was complete.
We have red nose transit for those too drunk to drive over the Christmas and New Year celebration period.
Why can’t we have a red poppy transit system for those who are sober and cannot get transportation to the Cenotaph on the 11th of November?
Maybe someone reading this will know about something like that.
In fact, that is something I would volunteer my services to. Maybe 250NEWS can arrange for a way to coordinate that in a private fashion.
Most of us call Canada ⦠Canada and most of us call Toronto⦠Toronto.
So why can’t Conservatives?
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bt-5_ITHC-k/T-C5DFR-S3I/AAAAAAAACms/offfnwVHdN4/s1600/Harperland.png
We used to have the Trudeau Government, then the Chretian Government, Etc; so why not the Harper Government??? Nothing new here.
As for Toronto, Mayor Ford, or Ford Nation. Who cares. We never have a shortage of scandals in Canada.
Toronto, and Ontario, should just relax and spend all the money they are collecting on the HST.
Come on Palupo – really? so reading between the lines: You have no idea what the original sign cost, you have no idea where it went and you have no idea what the plans are for another one. BUT lets throw $250,000 out there, thats a nice shocking number eh?
I really wish people would turn their lights on while out driving. It’s really not difficult is it?
You have got to be kidding us, right Palopu? There is NO WAY Trudeau or Chretian did this!!!
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/11/30/harper-government-harperization_n_1121897.html
You must be tired, get some sleep!
Lights ??? Hahhh …. I knew there was something I wanted to “quietly” mention… to those inconsiderate, ignorant, morons with belt buckle IQ ratings.
Just because you have those honking huge driving/fog/auxillary lights does not mean you have to have them on when it is just at predawn hours in clear weather. That is pure torture for the oncoming traffic.
And at night on the highway, if you are pulling a weighty trailer, get a load leveller hitch or adjust your headlights, you twits (yes, I know I spelled that wrong) !!! Turning on your extra lights just blinds the guy coming towards you.
And… never mind using your high angle, low beams, because from now on I am going to turn on my 41 million candlepower rack along with my high beams and drive straight towards you without flinching !!!!
I just love my fellow drivers !! :)
V.
Palopu: The terms “Trudeau Government” “Chretien Government” etc were terms used by the media to distinguish between the various Prime Ministers. The Harper government started off that way. However, the current government had started to brand itself as the Harper Government. They had went so far as to exchange Government of Canada with the Harper Government on letterhead and other things, including media press leases.
” A friend recently informed me that rental property owners must get a business licence next year, and while i can understand that it is a business for some it just feels like another cash grab by the city.”
Once you get a business license I would expect you will also receive seperate utility notices for any secondary suites – for garbage service at the very least.
Still too many people talking on cell phones while driving. I almost got creamed by a red dodge truck coming out of west gate because he decided not stop at the stop sign while on his phone and didn’t even blink an eye when I slammed on my brakes and honked at him. The road conditions are now unpredictable and it is not safe now or ever to be on your cell phone while driving.
Wow!
Yesterday, I read Neil Godbout’s Editorial in the Prince George Citizen. It was very interesting to read that our city CUPE workers had to suffer through a 16% wage increase over the term of their last 5 year contract which ran from 2008 to 2012!
It was even more interesting to check out Gus’s link above to the pay schedule increments. According to the schedule that I opened and reviewed, we are currently paying the following sample of wages:
Aquatic cashiers $24.49 per hour
Clerk 1 positions $24.07 per hour
Mailroom Clerks $25.03 per hour
Bylaw Clerks $26.55 per hour
In addition to these hourly rates, the employees enjoy a very generous benefits and retirement plan!
This is just a very small sample of what our terribly overworked and underpaid CUPE members are paid! I hope that everybody takes the time to review the schedule and then call Janet Bigelow to suggest to her that her members have it pretty darn good!
We should all be so lucky!!
OK, I’ll stop now so that all of this site’s left wing Union lovers can spend the rest of the day telling us how these wage and benefits packages are justifiable and that our taxes need to continue to rise in order to provide additional compensation to our Municipal Employees, both unionized and exempt staff!
Oops, sorry! Our resident left wing Union lovers only support increased wages for the Unionized Municipal Employees, not the Exempt Staff.
Me? I think that they are ALL very well paid, in fact, dare I say it, overpaid!!
Can anyone say “contracting out”?
Well said hart guy!
Completely agree Thunderboltz! So how “Un-Canadian” is it to call yourself the “Harper Government” rather than the Government of Canada?
I would go so far as to say, if you are for this Harper Government then you are against Canada!
Just wanted to comment on metalman’s post way near the top. True story.
We’re coming back from PowderKing, I’m the passenger and it’s blizzard conditions, and just out of the corner of my eye, I see a car down the embankment, I make note of where it is, and when we got to cell phone range, called the RCMP, and they asked me exactly that, did you check the vehicle to see if anyone was in it. I mentioned the blizzard and the horrendous accident we would cause by stopping in low visibility, and they were pissed off because – now they were going to have to drive up there and check.
So, here’s a wild thought. If it’s bad roads, maybe the RCMP,with their 4×4 vehicles, complete with flashing strobe lights, could maybe patrol the f**kin highway instead of sitting in their building and coffee shops waiting for someone to call them. And just maybe, because they’re out there, people will slow down and maybe we won’t have an accident to report.
Just sayin.
I was at Pine Center last evening and noticed all the cars parked close to the mall had a days worth of snow on them… seems its not only the downtown workers that take all the good spots close to the shopping.
To me that makes no sense. I parked near the edge of the parking lot so people won’t open their doors into my truck or what not… didn’t help as someone hit my rear bumper and put a small dent in it, but that’s besides the point.
One would think if a person parks in the prime spot for the whole day every day the odds of getting damage from other vehicles would go up, but I guess if they are all in the good spots all day and there is no turn over, then problem solved?
Interceptor. I watched on a regular basis the construction of this sign, and you would be surprised at the number of people and machines working to put it in place. Seems to me that it took them the better part of a month.
Furthermore after it was torn down, the timbers and logs, granite,or cement block, etc; were strewn around on the ground for at least 3 or 4 months and then disappeared.
Who knows what the actual cost was, however most things that the City touches turns brown, and costs a fortune. Perhaps $250,000.00 is a high number, however if you factor in the original cost of building it, the cost of tearing it down, and then the cost of putting up another one (if they do) it would still be pretty pricey.
Have a nice day.
@ski50, the police can’t be everywhere and I would suggest that they were ticked off because somebody who was in a perfectly good position to check the vehicle drove right on by. Seems to me that the excuses about someone not wanting to get out their warm car into so-called blizzard conditions didn’t wash with them.
Just sayin.
JohnnyBelt – there was snow on the road, maybe 100 ft of visibility, it was so bad, they didn’t want to go out there – hence their being pissed off. It was difficult to even be sure where the shoulders were – but we won’t get into the lack of plowing. So sometimes it’s just plain dangerous to stop unless you have the proper lighting because sure as shootin the next guy coming probably isn’t driving to road conditions.
They can’t be everywhere, but I’ve observed in the last few years they seem to be nowhere. I’ve driven up and down that road summer, winter, doesn’t matter, and only once I ran into RCMP doing any kind of traffic control. Same holds true heading out to Purden.
Seems to me, when the roads are treacherous, as they were that night – that’s when they should be out there, checking on vehicles, flagging them with tape, etc.
And for what it’s worth, I spent four years with a volunteer FD doing accidents on the highway, so I have some first hand experience, not just an armchair quarterback.
Noticed a lazy habit some folks have of crossing the center line on curves, both in town and on the highway. It’s a habit, that when you keep doing it, and someones coming the other way, people may over correct at the last second and bang, they’re in the ditch.
And, when you have a teen sitting beside you that’s watching how you drive, not a good example. What ever happened to centering your vehicle in your own lane all the time?
Having said that, there are a lot of good drivers out there. All you have to do is watch some of those You tube videos on driving from other countries, we’re lucky.
According to Rob Whitwham the Development Services will be submitting a report to Council later this year regarding increased water and sewer rates for identified suites and additional dwelling units. To fairly apply the new business license fees, in addition to the letters already sent out which were triggered by the absence of a HOG for taxes, the City has suggested the following. Property assessment records will assist with identification, Investigation of illegal suite complaints and checking rental ads against the list of legal/declared suites will be utilized.
Time for a change of subject….
To those veterans who risked or lost their lives to protect our country and other countries as well: I SALUTE YOU! We as a society should be ashamed of the treatment of our military personel. If it were not for them we would not have the lives we enjoy now. Probably wouldn’t enjoy the right to express our opinions in a public forum like this either.
Maybe the trash talk and mud slinging can tke a rest for once on this site so that we may express our respect, or at least direct talks here towards matters centering around Remebrance Day.
Have no fear, you will still have the ability to bash the City and/or critisize the police come tuesday. Take a breath, and focus on a holiday that gets forgotten between Halloween and Christmas!
Nice of you to “suggest” we direct our talks towards matters around remembrance day watchdog. I myself choose to remember and salute our fallen and surviving soldiers on Remembrance Day, not 3 days before or 3 days after.
I do not, in the least bit, feel guilty about discussing other matters on a Friday Free For All.
People#1, I must admit that I am extremely disappointed that you haven’t yet jumped all over me for my earlier comment about the wages paid to our municipal employees!
You always seem to have an expert opinion about absolutely everything and of course, your “opinion” is always the right one!
I must say that sometimes you seem conspicuously silent, especially when presented with a reasonable and well thought out rebuttal to your hallowed “opinion”!!
Ok, let me have it!! I’m a big boy and I can take it, haha!
Well⦠I was going to give your original comment a pass Hart Guy⦠*takes a sip of wine* but I will take you up on your offer.
In your original posted comment you listed a number of City employment positions (mostly clerical) and their impressive hourly rates of pay.
http://princegeorge.ca/careers/Lists/Job%20Postings/Attachments/429/13067_Lifeguard_Instructor_1_Web_Posting_Oct2013.pdf
http://princegeorge.ca/careers/Lists/Job%20Postings/Attachments/426/13062_Revenue_Control_Clerk_RPT_Web_Posting_Sep2013.pdf
Unfortunately, if you are a clerk, or life guard working for the city, you are employed part-time and working irregular hours. I guess we have to ask ourselves just how much money do the above part-time Life Guards and Revenue Control Clerk workers take home for food and rent? NOT MUCH I BET!!!
In your original comment you stated; “In addition to these rates, the employees enjoy generous benefits and retirement plan!”
Oh really? Since when to part-time workers qualify for any kind of City benefits plan???
*takes another sip of wine*⦠yeah⦠I’m done with you ;-)
oops.. Since when “do” part-time workersâ¦
I blame the wine :-D
People #1 **Balderdash** Do you have any figures as to the number of part time employee’s at the City??? If so then lets have them. I suspect that that there are very few.
On the other hand we have over 100 fireman who get paid approx. $95000.00 per year. Hmmmmm.
The City has 890 Employee’s not counting the Police.
229 earn more than $75000.00 per year. Average wage would be $93,472.00
661 earn less than or equal to $75000.00 per year.
Average wage would be $38797.00.
So I think we could say that at least 80% of City employees earn in excess of $55,000.00 per year.
Not bad for a town buried in the Hinterlands.
People#1, I’m fairly sure that the rates of pay that I posted were for full time positions. The rates of pay were found in the link that Gus graciously posted for us unenlightened citizens. The pay schedule increments that I reviewed were on a C.U.P.E. LOCAL #1048 schedule that stated:
SCHEDULE “B” THIRTY-SEVEN AND ONE-HALF HOUR PER WEEK SCHEDULE – Hourly, Biweekly, and Monthly Rates are Listed –
Appendix B
This suggests “full-time to me! So, according to this schedule, the following hourly rates of pay for the following full time positions are:
Aquatic cashiers $24.49 per hour
Clerk 1 positions $24.07 per hour
Mailroom Clerks $25.03 per hour
Bylaw Clerks $26.55 per hour
I only illustrated rates of pay for some of the lowest paid positions on the first few pages of this 12 page schedule. Rates of pay were higher and higher with each successive page. Page 4 lists a “Custodian 1” being paid $27.11 per hour, Post Probation. Page 6 lists Billings Clerks being paid $29.66 per hour, Post Probation.
I believe that All of these very good rates of pay apply to full-time workers who would also qualify for the generous benefits and retirement plans that I mentioned!
You all too often criticize other posters for not getting their facts straight and for failing to do their research. Seems to me that you might want to take heed of your own words! I respectfully submit that in your overzealous attempt to support your left wing union allegiance, you might have responded without doing your own research and without getting your facts straight.
Too much wine perhaps? Or too much Whine??
Nathan Cullen has announced he will not run for the BC NDP Leadership. His stated reason is he wants to fulfill a pledge to Jack Layton to help defeat the Harper Government and form an NDP Government.
What a lofty goal. He would be much better of trying to get rid of MuClair if he wants to form a Government. Even with MuClair gone it is an impossible task for the NDP. They still haven’t got over the shock of winning all those seats in Quebec. Those seats will disappear in the next election. Probably to the Liberals.
Palopu states; “People #1 **Balderdash** Do you have any figures as to the number of part time employee’s at the City??? If so then lets have them. I suspect that that there are very few.”
Sorry to disagree with you, but the City, as of late has been run like a “business”. Taken from the Jim Patterson page of cheapness, increase the number of part-time workers thus lower the costs of labour by decreasing the payout of benefits, which part-time employees are ineligible for!
Why I am surprised at both you Palopu and Hart Guy, even in the face of evidence that 6 life guards and a revenue control clerk are all part-time positions, you make bold assertions that the number of part-time workers at the City are not increasing? That the majority of workers are full-time? Who knows, but you both cannot simple discredit⦠*sips more wine* ⦠documented evidence that “may” indicate the contrary.
Hmm.. sounds like we need some “investigative reporting” on this matter ;-)
I know a person that works in aquatics, part time, and makes $13.51/hour. A lot of the special events workers at CN Centre are also part time (not sure how much they make) and those positions are often given to students or people with disabilities. I do know a few workers at the City and they are happy with what they get and are not against the offer made by the City. Don’t paint all CUPE members as greedy. And those that did NOT vote to strike are stuck with the decision of the rest of the sheeple.
I was shocked today to drop the kid off a school and no sidewalks or any part of the school grounds were plowed or shoveled. It was very icy out there this morning.
People#1, you conveniently ignore my assertion that the rates of pay taken from C.U.P.E. LOCAL #1048’s schedule are for full-time employees.
I’m not commenting on how many city employees are full-time and how many are part-time. I’m stating that in my opinion, the rates of pay and benefits enjoyed by full-time city workers, both unionized and exempt are extremely generous!! As far as I am concerned, Janet Bigelow and CUPE are completely out to lunch with respect to how hard done by their members are!!
I’m totally surprised that you, not Palopu and myself, are so unwilling to accept the documented evidence presented in CUPE’s own schedules!
The city has been run like a business people#1?? How much wine have you had? If it were run by patteson, this blog would lose 90% of posts bitching about our currant gong show because it would be well run. You are a bizarre piece of work.
You hopefully noticed that I said “Patteson”
not “patterson”. That’s the name of the leftard antichrist. Get it right wino.
Isn’t it Pattison? Small thing, but if you want it to be right…
Goodnight have a good and safe weekend everyone.
Ha, ha, good one margritaville, actually I want the word “current” to be spelt right, get it right dow! Wow… for person who claims to be from the “right” you sure aren’t a majority of the time.
People#1, so being from the “left”, would that mean that you are usually out in left field somewhere? That explains a lot!!
Still ignoring my opinion that CUPE is completely out in left field with regards to the plight of our poor municipal employees?
Perhaps you realized that you are “wrong” to suggest that our drastically overworked and severely underpaid municipal workers deserve our support by way of yet another round of wage increases??
Wait a minute, People#1 wrong, about anything?? Couldn’t be? Could it?? OMG!!
Me thinks I am with the “majority” people. Who runs the country?, the Province?. You, my demented adversary, are the fringe. You are an occupy movement, anti development, cop car burner. Your cause’s will never have rational people behind them. Canadian voters may do strange things at times, but they will never follow your views. But, don’t be discouraged, keep posting spam links and keep up the good fight.
By the way, how did the polisci mid term go?
Many people who work part-time for the city benefit from the CUPE collective bargaining process. Yes CUPE bargains on behalf of these full-time workers, but the many many part-time irregular hours workers such as this event host benefit from those negotiated hourly rates⦠and believe me, these part-time workers really need that break!
http://princegeorge.ca/careers/Lists/Job%20Postings/Attachments/428/13066_Event_Host_Web_Posting_Sep2013.pdf
http://princegeorge.ca/careers/Lists/Job%20Postings/Attachments/424/13057_Arena_Maintenance_Worker_Web_Posting.pdf
Wow, the Event Host is part-time irregular hours, and even these two Arena Maintenance Worker positions are part-time irregular hours. Seems to me that half of the positions posted in the City’s career section are part-time and irregular work hours. Go figure!
*shakes head then takes another sip of wine*
dow you may “think” you are with the “majority” of people, but I highly doubt a majority of the people are with you.
When it comes to climate change and global warming, I am with the majority, when it comes to opposing Enbridge, I am with the majority, when it comes to many other issues, I am with the majority.
I understand that since I have started posting to this site, some regular posters and commenters such as yourself have not been able to post your usual BS, because I tend to call people out on their “misinformed” opinions.
I have stated in the past and will continue to assert “facts and truths” wherever and whenever possible. Most of my comments contain links that support my opinions, such as the ones above. I am here dow, so get use to it!
People#1, facts and truths? You have a habit of ignoring posts that present you with facts and truths that you don’t agree with! I’ve noticed that you seem to have a very difficult time dealing with rational, well thought out debate, so instead you choose to ignore it! You have ignored many of my previous responses to your comments and my subsequent questions to you. You seem to do that with anyone that takes you to task with logical debate and conclusions.
That my friend, is both a fact and a truth!
What are you scared of? Are you worried that others will see you as a blowhard know-it-all who runs and hides when taken to task for your ongoing rants and raves?
By the way, the vast majority of people that I know and the vast majority of people that I do business with, support resource development, including the proposed Enbridge pipeline, so long as the most up to date technology and the most stringent safety standards available are required and enforced! We heat our homes with Natural Gas or Electricity, we earn a living driving around in our gas or diesel powered vehicles, we use computers made with materials mined from the Earth, including plastics made from refined petroleum products. Many of us make an effort to reduce our carbon footprint by driving less, turning down the heat in our homes and by turning lights off when we leave. We take offence when David Suzuki preaches to us about our carbon footprint, while at the same time he has a much much larger carbon footprint that the vast majority of us! If you truly want to know what the majority thinks, get off your butt and come talk to us in the SILENT MAJORITY!!
