Terrace Constable Awarded for Leadership
Terrace, B.C. – A Terrace Mountie is the recipient of the Kenneth M. Lemckert Leadership Award.
Constable Angela Rabut ( in photo at right- photo courtesy RCMP) was chosen for the award by the BC Crime Prevention Association, in recognition of her leadership in the area of community policing.
Cst. Rabut is one very busy Mountie. “Both on and off duty, Constable Rabut is actively involved in so many activities in the community, helping to make Terrace a better and safer place to live” says Inspector Dana Hart, the Officer In Charge of the Terrace Detachment.
In addition to overseeing the Terrace Detachment Auxiliary Constable Program, acting as the Detachment media relations officer, and school and Crimestoppers liaison, she has been instrumental in establishing a Restorative Justice Program in Terrace. She has also partnered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to host a Kidz ‘N Kops camp the past two summers and was the driving force behind the Ksan Girls Group providing positive role models for young females.
If all of that is not enough, she is married with three children, and somehow manages to find time to coach softball, minor hockey, and has been a Scout leader for the past 5 years.
