Sad to hear of this fatal accident, condolences to the family.
Thanks to the extrication crew*
*I believe this volunteer organization is known as P.G. Regional Highway Rescue,
formerly Fort George Highway Rescue.
They provide a vital service to society,
and have done so for many years.
Why is it that the Provincial Government will not fund these rescue services on a regular basis?
Do people realize that without these volunteer highway rescue people there may be no one to assist victims in the event of an accident?
Ambulance drivers and attendants are not permitted to put themselves at risk at an accident scene, nor do they have the tools and training to perform rescues and extrications. Their function is to treat the victims once they are removed from the vehicle, and transport them to hospital.

Agreed, often these costs are downloaded on the regional district, the cities, and the volunteers, when clearly this is something that should be considered provincial or even national in the services provided.
My condolences to the family and friends of those involved in this tragic accident.
Another local news website had a picture of the accident; really bad road conditions.
Was also caught up on the other side of this tragic accident. Road conditions were deplorable. It was white knuckle driving to avoid getting caught up in the slush rows. Our condolences to families effected and our thoughts also to the logging truck driver.
Did you see any highways maintenance trucks strech55? Just wondering if the roads had been cleared at all.
There were highways maintenance trucks on the other side of Slim Creek towards McBride but all heading East.
