Time For Your Flu Shot

Prince George, B.C.- It’s as certain as a sunrise. When flu shots become available, 250News President Ben Meisner, rolls up his sleeve and "poked"
"I am a firm beleiver that the flu vaccine can keep you from contracting the illness and being out of commission for a few weeks" says Meisner.
(at right, Hart Drugs Pharmacist Curt Fowkes administers the flu shot for 250News’ Ben Meisner)
The list of those who can receive the shot at no cost continues to grow . With pharmacists now allowed to administer the flu shot ( as well as many other vaccines), getting a flu shot is as convenient as making an appointment at your local drug store. "You can eliminate long line ups by making an appointment that suites your time table" says Hart Drugs pharmacist Curt Fowkes.
You can also make an appointment with your doctor or attend any of the many flu shot clinics offered by Northern Health. The Health Authority is offering a drop in flu shot clinic at the Northern Interior Health Clinic on Edmonton Street today, and on most Fridays, but for a complete list of Northern Health clinics throughout the region and who is eligile for a free shot, click here. Once you have reached the Northern Health page, click on the name of the community in which you live for a complee list of flu shot clinics.

Believe in what you want, Ben. Doing that is probably as safe as that man injecting you with manipulated viruses and then using ungloved hands to put pressure on the pucture wound. Not smart. You ought to know better Mr. Fowkes and if you don’t you shouldn’t be giving injections.
Sine Nomine I think we will find that picture was staged…
I don’t know if they prevent the flu, but any flu I do get seems to be greatly reduced… they used to last a week or more now down to a few days…
for me, being an old person… any day I am not sick is a blessing…
all I can say is, inform yourself and make a decision YOU are comfortable with…no one is forcing these on you , they are just letting you know they are AVAILABLE now and where.
What about smallpox? Had a 30% mortality rate before mass vaccinations…ever hear of anyone getting smallpox lately? They don’t even vaccinate for it in Canada anymore. Flu vaccination is voluntary, simple solution is don’t volunteer to get it if you hate it so much
slinky,
The difference is the vaccine for smallpox works.
Lol flu vaccine is a cash grab. Smallpox vaccine worked, flu vaccine might work ….maybe….. if they guess right. Nice of you folks being their lab rats though!
Do they have a vaccine for paranoia?

Do they have a vaccine for paranoia?

Tin Foil.
Yep it’s called the Flu shot for people that are paranoid about getting the flu. If it makes you feel less paranoid about getting the flu then by all means go get the shot. But getting the flu shot doesn’t mean you won’t get the flu. What gets me is the folks that get the flu shot and still get the flu. They say ” good thing I got my flu shot or it would of been worse”. Sorry if you got the flu even though you got your flu shot it means the flu shot didn’t work.
” Sorry if you got the flu even though you got your flu shot it means the flu shot didn’t work.”
No it doesn’t. If you get the flu after you got the shot (and that’s highly unlikely; most people don’t know what the flu is and end up using the term to describe a variety of ailments) it means you got a strain of the virus that was not dealt with in the vaccine. Again, a highly unlike scenario but it has happened on occasion.
