I guess the crosswalk will be put on hold. Use the dough for snow removal.
They must be exempt from utilizing fall protection
So you think fire fighters should upon arrival, go to the top of the roof, fasten a rope to the structure before they start fighting the fire?
No shit, and actually they don’t need it if they stay away from the edge.
I don’t know about you checkitout, but I think tying yourself to a burning building is probably more risky than the fall… I’d rather be able to jump off in a hurry if needed
Haha doesn’t take much to get you guys going. I was raising the subject because i always wondered how or if they take any fall protection seriously. They do have some nice equipment available to simply and very quickly clip on a cable retractable etc. oh, and before a big pummeling starts, i am a very well qualified safety person and am passionate about fall protection. Police officers pretty much follow the same worksafe rules that i do as well. Ppe, training, hazard assessment etc. they have also borrowed manlifts and fall protection equipment from me so they could toss bags of weed into the burner at a sawmill we were at!
A manlift ? Why didn’t they just open the door on the bee-hive burner and throw it in ?
They were dumping it in the conveyor and plugged it up at the top when they thought adding pallets would help prevent the wind from blowing it all frikken over the mill yard. I think the mill told them to dump it in the conveyor. They had several tandem trailers of it! Anyway, they made a hell of a mess and asked us to help unclog the conveyor all the way up to the top. We had some fun taking them up 85′ in a lift! They insisted on riding along to make sure it all went in the burner. With about a 60 k wind there were some pretty good noises coming out of them at full height!
