Decade of Doggie Fashon Divas

Wednesday, November 13, 2013 @ 3:40 AM
Prince George, B.C. – You have until tomorrow at noon to pre-register   your pooch in the 10th annual CNC Doggie fashion Show.

The actual show is set for Saturday, but, if your canine pal wants to “put on the dog”, then registration needs to happen.

The annual   event is a fund raiser for the local SPCA which has raised, over the years, more than $10 thousand dollars as well as pallets of food and supplies for the SPCA.

You don’t have to own a dog to take part.   The Fashion Show is open for participation from children, adults and seniors.   And yes there are “Awards”.

There is the People’s Choice Award,   as well as the Jasper Memorial Award which is given to a shelter or rescue dog that conducts itself with dignity.

Entry fee is $10 and registration forms can be downloaded from the College of New Caledonia’s News and Events section on the CNC website.

For those who just want to catch all the tail-wagging fun, the event gets underway at 1:00 this Saturday at the CNC Gathering Place ( Atrium) at the main campus.

“Jasper Memorial Award … given to a … dog that conducts itself with dignity.”

Difficult to do when one does not have a choice of what some weird human will put on ones back, head, etc ….

Dignity is a term used in moral, ethical, legal, and political discussions to signify that a being has an innate right to be valued and receive ethical treatment. … source Wikipedia

Gus .. One could argue that it is this right to dignity that suggests that we stifle our laughter and derision that might occur when we see a dog in costume (or an older bald-headed man wearing a pony-tail) ;-)
