Two More Bodies Pulled from Skeena
Terrace, B.C. – RCMP have confirmed that none of the three missing boaters on the Skeena River survived.
Searchers pulled the bodies of a man and woman from the water today after Tuesday’s efforts led to the recovery of another man.
The trio had set out Sunday for Frizzell Hot Springs on the south side of the Skeena approximately 33 kilometres east of Prince Rupert but failed to return as expected Monday.
"It is with great sadness that we have to inform the public of this incident", stated Constable Matt Ericson, spokesman for the Prince Rupert RCMP Detachment. "Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this tragic event."
RCMP say all three of the boaters have been identified and are from the Terrace area.
The case has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
