Concert To Mark One Year to Winter Games
Prince George, BC. – When February 14th, 2014 rolls around, it will be party time in Prince George.
That will not only be Valentine’s Day, but it will mark one year to the opening of the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
The JUNO award winning, multi-platinum selling band “Hedley” will be in concert at the CN Centre on Feb 14th , 2014, and it is just one of the events planned for that day.
The CN Centre will be one of the official venues for men and women’s hockey during the Games, it is the site of the Opening Ceremonies and Hedley itself has a local connection. Lead guitarist Dave Rosin, grew up in Prince George.
“As the 2015 Games gets closer, the momentum will continue to build, and citizens in Prince George will be able to appreciate what the event will mean to them,” says CEO of the 2015 Canada Winter Games, Stuart Ballantyne. “We are taking every opportunity to celebrate these milestones and showcase the City’s impressive facilities and welcome the public to journey with us, whether that is through volunteering, sponsoring the event or by attending the one-year out celebration event in February.”
Tickets for the concert will be available at Ticketmaster tomorrow.

Sweet, one more year until the levy comes off my tax bill
Only to be replaced with the new storm sewer utility!
There sure seems to be a lot of partying before the event…
Why do I think they arespending money on parties before an event that really isn’t helping the event?????
maybe save your money and party afterwards if there are any funds left over?????
Do we get free tickets seeing as our tax dollars are paying for all this crap?
Nothing is free with this city exept your vote next election to remove these people
Not sure what we are celebrating here. Our march into bankruptcy perhaps.
Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
Not that I am a big fan of the games as I want to see if there is a bill at the end but from what I have seen and heard the only tax dollars that have gone into the games is for the improvements to the kin center. So far it looks pretty good.
The new dressing rooms for kin two are a vast improvement and it is going to be nice to be able to play rec hockey in kin one without hitting my head on the ceiling in the pint size dressing rooms that we used to have to put up with.
Being able to have a pop in the new lounge will also be a lot better than having to go out into the parking lot and huddle around my pickup for the post game beer.
hey Mitch2 that “post game beer” you are talking about…
is that the one you have just before you get in your truck and drive away?
and you can bet right after the winter games the users of Kin 2 and 3 will have their hands out snivelling like crazy that their facilites are not near a nice as KIN1 and be demanding upgrades … probably get them too….
