This guy’s gotta go . . .

He is just making Canada look like a pile of poop!

He makes himself and his supporters look like a pile of poop. As a Canadian, it makes no difference to me. I think the big joke is that now that he’s “outed” and as council takes away his power, he keeps ranting about fiscal restraint and taking care of the taxpayers. That is a rather simplistic way of winning votes with narrow thinking people. That’s the scary part. He still has support from many of his constituents. Sad to be a Torontonian.

Where is the due process. Give the man his day in court. I don’t think no one supports what he is accused of, but if we are to have integrity in our democracy he should get his day in court or at least be charged before they remove an elected official.

Eagleone = Pamela Wallin !

LOL Boon… lets just say I am Pamela Wallin… what odes that have to do with removing elected politicians because some people simply don’t like the person?

Without due process we do not have democracy whether we like who is in office or not. If its just a popularity contest between the elites, then I find that much more dangerous than Rob Ford smoking crack in his off time.

BTW Pamela Wallin was never elected, but still as a sitting senator… do we have due process for the chamber of sober second thought, or is it just an extension of partisan glad handing?

Eagleone – I tend to agree with most of your points; however, I wish the cops could move the process along and charge both Ford and Wallin. Then they could both have their day in court and be either cleared or convicted. I understand the cops have to wait until their case has been fully developed but the delays are killing any remaining credibility in our democratic system of governance.

This idea that sitting members of the respective bodies charges, judges and convicts without due process is indeed a slippery slope. That is role of the independent judiciary.
