Firday Free For All – Nov. 22nd, 2013
Friday, November 22, 2013 @ 12:00 AM
Still a month to go before winter is "officially" here, but it sure feels and looks like winter in this part of B.C.
But, it's the weekend, and the recent heavy snowfall will be a reason to rejoice for skiers, snowmobilers and snow lovers.
So, what struck a nerve with you over the past week? Was it City Council's support for a $42.5 million dollar Performing Arts Centre? Was it the snowfall, or the unveiling of the RCMP building? Maybe it's just all about Toronto's Mayor Rob Ford, whatever the issue, it is your turn to speak up.
You pick the topic, because it is time for the FRIDAY FREE FOR ALL.
Obey the three simple rules:
- Keep it clean
- Keep it legal
- No bullying of other posters.

Enjoy your weekend folks.
Be smart. Be safe. Have a fabulous weekend!
It’s icy out there. Please take that extra few minutes to leave early so you don’t have to rush around in conditions that are not ideal.
Went to an amazing Re-Fresh Party at the Coast Inn of the North. Great food, wonderful entertainment with lot’s of new and positive changes with the manager, Joey Beltrano leading the charge with the improvements. GREAT EVENING!!!!!!
Happy Firday says op 250….trading anyone….lol
Yesterday was Spruceday, today is Firday! Cant wait for Cedarday! :)
If BC ferries employee’s and families get to ride the ferries for free, I do believe that this same benefit should be applied to the Northern Health bus.
I would also not be surprised that ferry employee’s get free parking!
Maybe even a free ride into the major cities, on public transportation? Please justify these perks to ferry employee’s.
Whom do I submit my resume too?
It’s flu season so everyone should be wearing masks! Yes even the ones who rolled up there sleeves for their injection of goo!
Mayor Green has a chance to open up another vote on pay parking in our parking facilities. To put in a motion to let the council establish a more realistic increase that will see the customer stay not move and pay nothing. Her argument is that every time the citizens don’t like a vote we would be faced with having to do over doesn’t wash.
The citizens will have a vote in the next election, and if she doesn’t address this all people effected should show her the door. This does not affect me at all but is not right.
Maybe “never” will throw hat in ring next election, its time the people started getting heard.
Never too early to roll out the crazy.
It’s a good start to the free-for-all weaksauce. So far very entertaining.
What snow clearing.
Well Sardonic, I guess you’ll stop paying your taxes too. Just because the man is a weapons enthusiast, does not mean he has murderous intentions. If the man lived in Switzerland, he wouldn’t have had to conceal the purchase of those weapons. He could have done it openly.
Mayor Green had a chance to bring back pay parking for another vote within 30 days. Seems that time is long past.
Some Councillors seem amazed at how high the increases are, and want a re-do, however it seems that at this time, that is not possible,. They should review some old tapes if they want to see how this **bad judgment vote** came about.
Every **bad judgment vote** that has been made by this Council needs to be shown over and over for the next year, to ensure that people do not forget.
A prime example of why there is cross border shopping. Had to buy a part for my Dodge P/U. Dealer cost in PG $280.00 plus taxes. Found the same part in the USA for $133.00. Add in freight, duty, brokerage and it was still 25% cheaper than the dealer in PG. Both are oem parts and the delivery was about the same as the PG Dodge dealer did not have inventory.

Over 30000 rounds of ammunition along with fully automatic weapons would put him in the realm of gun nut not enthusiast.
Having them shipped in parts and pieces says that he was fully aware that they were not legal in this country. If he does not want to abide by the laws of the country then it is time to face the consequences.
So many JFK conspiracy theories……which one to take seriously? I find Roswell to be far more interesting!
Eagle: ” America is still under the control of rouge elements to this day.”
What is a rouge element?
Eagleone, thank you very much for the synopsis. Lots to consider there. Interestingly, it is assume or generally known that Israel is a nuclear power and yet they get zero pressure from the UN, USA or the NPT (Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty).
My understanding is that the JFK documents are to be declassified in the next few years. Should be interesting to see what comes of it … that is if they pages are completely blacked out.
Have a good weekend everyone. Careful on the roads.
Just curious, if our City has no money to spare, why do they advertise our two pools on bus shelters around the city. No proof to back it up, but safe to say that at least 95% of us that live in Prince George know we have two pools. Waste.
On the topic of bus shelters and stops, I can only wonder how many thousands it cost the City to change All the bus stop and route info signs from red to blue this summer. But wait, we must trim where we can. Get real
I think I should start up a church soon.
I get to have all the services like everyone else, and do not have to pay any taxes.
Not even land taxes. I would scourn anyone who suggest im running a business. I would promise anyone who tiths 10% of their hard earned money that it would come back ten fold. I would be quick to point out how its non profit. My point is, if churches get wealthy, and they do, they may not be helping out the hungry and needs of the poor.
Im Robin Hood, this is my opinion.
JFK was one of the worst Presidents the USA ever installed in office. Notice I didn’t say ‘elected’ to office. There’s a very good chance that Nixon actually beat him in the election of 1960, if it had been an honest one.
Literally everything JFK touched he screwed up. Pun fully intended.
If he hadn’t been assassinated, and lived to contest the election of 1964, he would almost certainly have been another ‘one-term’ wonder, no matter who the Republicans had put up against him.
His issue of Treasury Notes would only have ADDED to the inflationary woes the USA (and Canada) were then beginning to experience.
It was called ‘stagflation’, at that time. Because prices were rising, but actual economic activity (as measured through the the creation of new ‘jobs’ ~ the same stupid way we do it today) was not.
As to who shot him, who really knows? In a sense whoever it was did him a favour, it gave him a martyrdom that was never deserved. And the world went on.
Mayor Green and council, you are supposed to be representing us. Why do you not do your job ? Why do you keep gouging us more and more with taxes, user fees etc.
You say we have no money but are pushing this PAC that a very small percentage want but will cost us millions that we cant afford and then hundreds of thousands a year for upkeep etc. We cant keep our roads plowed but we can afford this ? who is doing your books.. fire them immediatly. Who made the decision to charge us for how much rain we get.. fire them as well.
You are bragging about us soon to be having a twin city… who gives a sh*t. Is there drinking allowed on council nights.. Tequila shots maybe.. thats the only way I can fathom coming up with all these rediculous ideas, fees, taxes etc.
Congratulations green as you will be remembered as the worst mayor we have ever had.
I remember where I as fifty years ago today when I heard the news. I was in Mr. Fulton’s art class on the third floor in my high school in Vancouver. Room 310 or 311. Why do I remember that? And he was one of the worst presidents too. Womanizer and he almost got us nuked. “Happy Birthday Mr. President…..” I remember who and when that song was sung. Must’ve grated on Jackie’s nerves. It is to laff. What a hero, eh? Only in America.
When is that road completed between Mr.G on the top of airport hill and the Happy trails RV on the Hwy 97.
It’s been under construction for about 3 years. WOW
Only in America? Hardly.
Palopu: “Some Councillors seem amazed at how high the increases are, and want a re-do, however it seems that at this time, that is not possible,. They should review some old tapes if they want to see how this **bad judgment vote** came about. “
Just because it was unpopular and a lot of people whined about it doesn’t make it bad judgment. If anything, the talk from some of the councillors who want to flip-flop on this issue shows poor leadership.
They made the right decision not to let the general taxpayer subsidize downtown parking. Just because a few councillors are getting cold feet because a few people whined about it doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right thing to do.
If you want to watch a documentary of a very plausible way that JFK got shot go to discoverychannel.ca, click the video link and look for the documentary JFK: The Smoking Gun under the first tab. It shows how there was not a conspiracy, but LHO did not actually fire the kill shot, but rather it was an accident by one of his own men. I never believed the big conspiracy angle because it would have just been too hard to keep secret, but I also didn’t buy that LHO was the actually killer, this documentary explains it pretty well.

I drove the boundry road this morning. Paved all the way. Crews were putting up lights. Nice drive…for now. Wonder why they don’t use this road for the main access to the airport?
I’m confused. We want potholes fixed, snow cleared, higher wages for city staff, and not pay for parking, sell land, or have higher taxes.
“We should have a say” When 1 in 4 people in PG vote, but 9 in 10 gripe … it sounds like a tough job to fill.
Didn’t everyone want Mayor Dan out?
Some interesting news out of Cranbrook:
The City of Cranbrook is in the process of settling a lawsuit regarding the fluoridation of Cranbrookâs drinking water. While the city couldnât comment on the details as it is a legal matter being dealt with by the cityâs legal counsel, the city could confirm that a settlement was in the works.
Kevin Millership first brought the class action lawsuit forward in August. The suit sought damages for fluorosis caused by the cityâs fluoridation program thatâs been in place since 1967.
In an open letter dated April 2000, Dr Hardy Limeback (Head of Preventive Dentistry at U of T, and advisor to Health Canada) has decried the practice of adding fluoride to water citing that the perceived benefits no longer outweigh the risks. He went on to say that those dollars would be better spent if they were reallocated to a concentrated effort targeting those most at risk, therefore preventing the entire population from experiencing the side effects.
Health Canada downplays fluorosis saying that it’s cosmetic. WHAT?
That’s like telling someone with acne, “don’t worry about it, no one notices.”
Or tell that to someone who wants to fix fluorosis – it costs thousands of dollars.
Tooth whitening is a multi billion dollar industry.
City Councils in PG have been lobbied for over 20 years to stop the practice of AWF.
Adding the waste product of the phosphate fertilizer industry to the water system and calling it a health benefit? Our children deserve better.
BTW, my dentist admits there are incidents of fluorosis in PG
JB, what is your fixation with hosing downtown parkers? How have I been subsidized by the general taxpayers? I park downtown and have had rates climb 60%. This is a cash grab. Period.
“We want potholes fixed, snow cleared, higher wages for city staff” – I wouldn’t exactly add in the “higher wages for city staff” into the wants by most voters, would you? I think most voters who are not city employees would think a good deal of them are already over paid for what a lot of them have to do.
Mayor Rob Ford has an approval rating of 42% in a just released poll.
Pretty amazing given the work of the establishment trying to discredit him at every opportunity.
Would the Green machine’s approval rate in the 40’s? Given the comments on 250 double digits could be a challenge.
Enough already with JFK, move on.It’s been 50 yrs…blah, blah, blah
Welcome to winter people and unless you came from a tropical country here’s a few winter tips. All season tires don’t cut it so invest in some snows. Please clean off your car, van,or truck with a broom or snowbrush and make sure your brake lights and turn signals are visible. Hopping in the car and using the wipers does not give you any visual field. You can see where you’re going but, when you attempt to change lanes and we can’t see your signal, when you begin to veer we honk! Flipping us off or slamming on the brakes after you get in front of us does not endear you to us.
Do not tailgate because you can’t stop as quickly as you think you can and I will be extremely unhappy if you hit my car and/or injure me.
Leave sooner, drive for the conditions and use some common sense.
First, a bouquet: to Jim Brinkman and his staff at Book & Company for the brilliant advertising they do. Love this morning’s insert in the Citizen.
Second, a beef: to The Citizen. Why did their reporter feel the need to link a man’s name to his business when reporting on the charges the man is being investigated for? The guns weren’t found at the business so why mention the business in a separate article on the front page? Incredibly bad reporting.
Filtered, thanks for the information about the city of Cranbrook’s class action lawsuit!
The outcome may be in favour of those who have suffered damage to the enamel of their teeth, since they did not individually agree to receive this chemical in their tap water.
This class action lawsuit may set a precedent and if it does the city of Prince George may be faced with a similar action. We have been fluoridated since 1954 and the citizens have never been given any opportunity to consent to receiving this stuff in their drinking, bathing and cooking water.
This is not a trivial thing – as it involves health, ethics and a denial of freedom of choice.
If fluoride is so beneficial why are we being told to not swallow any of the toothpaste which is fluoridated? One would think the more the better, eh?
dow7500: “JB, what is your fixation with hosing downtown parkers? How have I been subsidized by the general taxpayers? I park downtown and have had rates climb 60%. This is a cash grab. Period. “
There is no such thing as free parking, nor should I subsidize it. Period.
Resident: “Mayor Rob Ford has an approval rating of 42% in a just released poll.
Pretty amazing given the work of the establishment trying to discredit him at every opportunity.”
He does a fine job discrediting himself without ‘the establishments’ help.
Amazing, according to the newest advertising push, unless you have dedicated winter tires they simply quite working below 7 degrees celsius. I guess I just dreamt it but Im pretty sure Ive been driving for 25 years between September and March without incident. Gawd only knows what my parents did.
Spend.. Spend..Borrow..Loan..Spend.. Spend
Why do all levels of our Canadian Government continue to allow every canadian to spend uncontrollably.
A vicious cicle of our Canadian Debt as seen today and spoken by a 12 year old.

oops * cycle
And speaking of winter driving here’s my PSA for the day. First, if you feel the need to drive at 50 kmh in the left lane down the Hart because you’re scared witless, stay home! And turn your license in; it was obviously given to you in error. Second, come on people! Turn your damn lights on! Third, if you’re going to drive like an ass perhaps you shouldn’t do it in a company vehicle with the name plastered all over it. There’s this one guy who comes off Chief Lake road and tailgates everybody; regardless of what lane they’re in or how fast their going. I wonder how many accidents he’s caused?
I wonder what Christy Clark would have to say in regards to canadas banking system…but then we will have to wait be cause she too is in China..Good Grief!
We need an edit function. :)
Dodo says, “Over 30000 rounds of ammunition along with fully automatic weapons would put him in the realm of gun nut not enthusiast”
That just shows your level of intelligence surrounding the shooting sports. Maybe stick with something you know about, like criticizing others for what they do for enjoyment or what type of work they do or what their hourly wages and benefits should be. Oh wait, you already do that on a consistent basis don’t you.
dow7500, i’ve sort of felt the same way about johnnyb. i don’t understand why he feels taxpayers are subsidizing downtown parkers. what has happened is that the city has taken something that is revenue neutral and chosen to try to make money out of it. parking fees pay for maintenance costs, snow clearing, etc… this was already happening. johnny, your tax dollars were not paying for my parking pass, in any way, shape, or form. the city, broke as we are, decided instead that simply having parkers pay for the services provided to them was no longer good enough. They now want to generate income for other city projects. So, in fact, johnnyb, the increases in parking fees will likely go towards other projects and infrastructure in the city unrelated to parking. WELL, WHY SHOULD I PAY TO HAVE WHEELCHAIR RAMPS REPAIRED? I DON”T USE THEM! because we live in a society where this happens and we accept it. nobody is complaining about an increase in parking fees. maintenance costs are going up, so raise fees to keep up, 5, 10, 15 percent.
Can anyone explain to me why, when the catholic church is one of the richest organisations in the world, it can’t lift a finger to help out the people in a predominantly catholic country, in their time of dire need? Same thing when the pope visited Mexico a few years ago. Instead of arriving with any aid for the poor, he simply “blessed” them and said he would “pray” for them, while he paraded around in his million dollar bullet proof vehicle.
A lot of other churches are helping out with money, supplies and people on the ground. I read of one minister of a protestant church over there who was backpacking supplies into a remote village because the road was impassible. He was expecting to do his third trip in, when spoken to by a reporter.
When someone has 5-100 round drum magazines, 50 assault rifle clips, automatic rifles, weapons with altered serial numbers, vests etc that does not fall into a sport no matter how you cut it. Most of it banned in Canada and this gun nut will now have to answer for it.
This latest poll on a referendum has me a little confused. I wouldn’t think there would be that many people opposed to it.
“Why do all levels of our Canadian Government continue to allow every canadian to spend uncontrollably.”
——————————————-
‘Cause they all want us to have ‘jobs, jobs, jobs’, HappyInMyWorld. Full employment. No uncontrollable spending = non-sufficient consumption of what’s been made = less future production of what’s not selling = no ‘jobs’ for everyone. Short answer, if we ALL had to ‘live within our means’, under the current financial set-up a whole lot more of us wouldn’t have any.
It seems lost on them that any country that needs to have 100% of its available workforce working full time, (or even beyond that), to provide
100% of its needs and desires in the way of actual goods and services is a hopelessly inefficient country.
BTW I think Rob Ford would beat mayor Green if he ran against her here in PG. Maybe that should be the next 250 poll? At least with Rob Ford he holds the line on fiscal responsibility and is transparent in what he says he will do.
Says a lot for Toronto though when a crack smoking mayor is the best candidate they can put forward. And for PG I think we still have the worst council and mayor in the country.
What you need there folks is an impromptu landing by a Boeing Dreamlifter.
You just cannot buy publicity like that.
“Yeah okay tower… flash your lights… we can THINK we are at the right airfield.”
;-)

The rouge elements running the US today are not elected and don’t work for the American people, but rather are motivated by personal wealth and a globalist agenda.
They operate with no transparency to the public, they fix elections, manage the media and legal system, and can buy just about who ever they want. Most all of them are connected to big banks, big oil, or the zionist project in the Middle East. JFK, RFK, MLK, 9/11, the Iraq war, the 2008 financial meltdown, drone warfare, and the coming derivative depression are all their doing and for the most part smart people that have done their research know this but are powerless to do anything about it.
The only way to stop them now is a counter coup that reigns in the NSA, Homeland Security type agencies, and empowers securities regulators of the markets and opens up full transparency to all domestic government departments. Free trade needs to be scraped for fair trade otherwise the economics will see the rich get richer and the middle class will become the slave class enabling a police state by and for the 1% financial elite.
IMHO
Firday Free For all
When did they change the heading??
The OECD came out a few days ago and said interest rates in Canada are far too low. They figure the rates in Canada should go up over the next few years to around 8% which is the historical average.
Harper on the other hand says he is not worried about Canadian household debt levels. When he came to power he pushed the 5% down 35-year mortgages and lowest interest rates in Canadian history pushing housing prices higher than they should have been, then a few years later changed his mind and implemented the 25-year mortgage ceiling with a 10% down payment. So why would one take Harper’s word for anything.
If the OECD is calling for an 8% interest rate in the next few years, my bet is they are probably more in the know than Harper trying to buy an economy on household debt levels.
Time Will Tell
Good time to use the roof rake to clear near the gutters before the melt freezes again.
Eagleone states; “Now you are insulting mechanics as low wage earning grease monkey ticket holders? No wonder you’re a lonesome fellow.”
Having engaged in debate with lonesome a couple of time in the past, it is my considered opinion that lonesome is a woman, and yes she supplies us with ample evidence on why she calls herself “lonesome”.
My, my, that was a nice refreshing week of Winter that we had, welcome back “Fall/Spring” like weather. :-) Now that I have predicted this period of Fall/Spring weather for the month of November, bring on December, January and February. I look forward to the periods of mild temperatures these months will bring as well. Have a good weekend everyone, get out an enjoy this “balmy” weather :-D
That is why I rarely post links anymore Lonesome. Just because I post a link for perspective does not mean I personally endorse everything that can be linked to that link, nor do I need to explain every perverse perception one can get from it.
Truthfully you have brought up this link a number of times and have posted it like ten times to the once that I included it for what ever reason however many years ago. I have often asked you to be specific as to what I have said and you post this link… so yes I do believe you have issues, and good for you if you believe in something… I’m just not sure entirely what.
I suppose since I sourced the Jewish virtual library in today’s link that you think I am a modern day Esther now as well, or a moser with a story to tell….
Honestly E1 I agree you come off like you have a big of an agenda. Not really a bad thing but I dont think its unreasonable for someone to feel that way about you. Dont pretend you dont like the attention or you wouldnt be posting 1000 word posts.
And really you are the type of person that makes a site like this interesting. Perhaps you are a bit to in love with the sound of your own voice (or click of your own keys) but at the end of the day we are all amused.
So really thanks for taking the time.
Itâs Friday so if you are out and about or headed out on the highway please give the truckers a break. They are trying to wrap up a 70 or 80 hr week before midnight. They are tired grumpy and likely half asleep. Pissing this guy off is like poking a bear with a stick. If he pulls up behind you it means he is travelling faster than you. For the sake of peace on the roads next straight stretch when no traffic is coming put on your right signal and slow down and let him go. He will be gone in no time. You are not a traffic cop and you car with your family inside is not a traffic control device.
Just Saying
Eagleone, I think the word you are looking for is “ROGUE”. Rouge is a color or a type of makeup. You left out the alien invasion.;)
It’s Friday so people should pull over into the snow and let the trucker by ? WTF ?
I hope Eagleone puts his name forward for council next election like he stated he might in another thread. Now that would be entertaining. :-)
WOW….btrucker the arrogance of you….your kind of people are not the only ones that work wacko hours and have lack of sleep. By the sounds of you, you would have everyone that has a vehicle stop for the privilege of having a parade of “tired, grumpy and likely half a sleep” poked bears rule the roads. Let me know when you are out an about so that you people don’t kill me with irresponsible driving. JUST SAYIN……
Hah What the log book says and what the on board computer says are two VERY different things…
PG Girl
Thats the piont they are out there all the time. There are many of them.
eagle, or chadermando of years gone by, you reek of antisemitism. Cloak it how ever you want but it smells.
Concur with PG girl btrucker, I could give a flying fk about hard done by truckers. In the last week alone I have seen 4 moronic passes that must have terrified the vehicles in their wake. Sit at the intersection of 97 and Ferry and watch the fully loaded trucks blow red lights at 70k. Some soccer mom in a minivan full of kids is going to get wiped out. Do they care how the idiot gets paid or how many hours he’s worked? not.
JB, parking is not free. You do know I pay right? a fair bit right? now enlighten me how you subsidize me. period.
Thanks BC Born. I don’t get too upset about opinions on 250 when they are accurate. I just don’t like to leave the accusations against me if I feel they are a wrong portrayal of who I am, as in the case of lonesome.
For the record though, I do have an agenda… mostly to state things how I see them, especially when it comes to the greedy abuse of power by the 1% that are otherwise unaccountable. I fully understand some people will be put off by that and object from time to time… it takes a long time and a lot of research to get through the walls that are put up against the public getting a true understanding of the full scope. There was a time when I myself would get angry and sometimes a little depressed at what I have come to learn… we can either put our heads in the sand and ignore, or take what little opportunities we can to shine some light and hopefully share an understanding with others towards getting to the truth and that is what I try to do. The Friday Free For All happens to be a a great place to do that from time to time.
And trust me lol, you do not want to hear my voice… much better that I just type a missive and if people want they can scroll on by.
Lonesome I don’t have the time right now, but you simplify and misrepresent what I have had to say in the past, but generally you are not far off. Problem is each issue is unique and complex and you are a simpleton with a victim complex that you think entitles you to defend that which you have little understanding of and a closed mind to anything that upsets your worldview.
If their was a virtual side door to take this up outside the main thread I would gladly debate the issues you have, but I don’t think everyone else needs to read your poison on the main thread.
—-
Dow I don’t know where you get your information, but I guess you can read what you want into what I have had to say. I think you do a great disservice to the false use of the word antisemitism and I’m sure those that suffered at the hands of hitler would take issue with your rendering the word meaningless. It is not antisemitic to speak truth to power and call out those that are guilty of crimes against humanity and a civilized world. You obviously live with an Orwellian worldview.
700 million liters of industrial waste water from a holding pond have polluted the Athabasca river! Aluminum, lead, arsenic…people are told not to use the water from the river and not to let their livestock drink it!
The tar sands have much bigger holding ponds and many more of them, containing greater concentrations of even more dangerous contaminants.
The basics of life: Clean air, clean water and wholesome food. Looks like we are gambling with the quality of all of them.
Eagle, did you previously post as chadermado? yes or no.
80 hours a week is legal for a logger.70 hours for the moron blowing the red light at ferry ave. As truckers get harder to find the quality declines. Look both ways at the intersection even on green.
btrucker, always look both ways. Learned it the hard way, came within inches of being the minivan soccer mom. Had a full load of kids going to John Mcinnis school. Still shake at the near miss.
“Look both ways at the intersection even on green”
Yup, it’s called defensive driving. Don’t go on a green light until after looking both ways a minimum of 3 seconds after your light changes to green.
Those that think these truckers are running red lights because they are in a hurry are clueless. If you’ve never driven one you know nothing.
I rally don’t care why they run red lights. Didn’t get enough hugs, late for dinner or tired. Blowing through a yellow/red light is exceedingly dangerous, particularly when driving a loaded logging/transport truck. Rules are rules, don’t run lights. I don’t care if your delivering pizza or logs. The onus is on any vehicle to obey the road rules.
As usual dragon, you are the clueless.
Well… some of you may be happy about the following news;
“New Brunswick Judge says protesters must not interfere with SWN’s shale gas exploration”
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/swn-court-order-called-draconian-by-protester-1.2436227
Too bad, because these protestor, many among them who are Mik’maq, are trying to save their water source from contamination.
Looks like they may be too late. Here is a video just released today of SWN seismic shot hole tests that cracked a near-surface aquifer in Kent County, New Brunswick.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFaiyZgvEio
I don’t think the water in that underground aquifer is drinkable now! So which is more important; water or natural gas? We must all make that choice. I choose water, we can’t live without it!!!
Wondering when opinion 250 radio is getting it`s transmission power boosted?
Thought is was to be boosted about late October ? Ben, when will it happen?
people…what a pile of sht. Seismic doesn’t touch aquifers and uses standard water in the process. The supposed hole should have tire tracks all around it. If an aquifer was “punctured” why did it spill contaminants?
Seismic can use water in the drilling process, or “vibrators” which use hydrolic machines that pound the earth to take wave readings. None use chemicals and none would caused this BS creek contamination.
Climb a tower in Russia, tool.
Come on Dick you’re not a truck driver, you know squat about why trucks may run the odd light here and there that’s obvious. All you know is OMG! that truck ran that light. If you’ve ever driven one you would know that on many occasions traffic lights will change just as heavy trucks are at the point of no return. How many have you run in your red wagon? Trucks are pretty heavy when loaded Dick, if they were to seriously attempt a stop at the point of no return they’d end up smoking them to a dead stop right into the middle of the intersection. That would go over really well wouldn’t it?You’ve never driven one so your cluelessness is understandable.
Go back to your stocks and fuel pumps buddy.
I had a contract with CFIS for a couple of years but that is all, 250News has no connection with CFIS other than that which expired some time ago.
I do know they have been working hard to get their power increase up and running. As to when that will take place I don’t know any more than you.
I suggest that you get in touch with them at their office to get an update. We wish them the best in their power increase. It is a community not for profit radio station.
Dow obviously you have never seen the ‘Door to Hell’ in Turkmenistan that has been burning 24/7 for over forty years now. A gas well blow out that left a 230 foot wide flaming crater that can be seen at night from over a hundred miles away.
40 years and counting burning more gas like a flare than an entire city… gas company said it would burn itself out in a couple of days and nothing to worry about, move along, move along. Massive catastrophe with the only saving grace being that it happened in a dessert far away from any aquifers.
Where are the global warming nuts on this one?
Look it up, I’d provide a link but then the likes of Dow and Lonesome would blame me for the catastrophe….
I don’t think anyone in a big rig intentionally tries to run a red light. They drive for a living and the last thing one needs is a ticket that could screw their ability to make a living.
I know I have had borderline red light situations. Some lights in town can be triggered by a car pulling up to the intersection and it goes yellow instantly… Ferry and 20th avenue are two that come to mind.
For me when I am past the point of no return and the light is triggered my concern is the mini van full of kids driving ten feet behind my back bumper. I know I can damn well stop faster then they can and if I do they will be dead from the impact… sometimes they are there in my mirrors and then they are not and then they are, do I have time to check? Hell no, and do they have the ability to see around the trailer to see the light has changed? Hell no, its full speed into the back of the trailer. This is why one has to look both ways before entering an intersection.
85% of all deaths in the US involving a rig are from a vehicle rear ending a rig that is making a fast stop, and not from a rig hitting someone head on. Legally so long as the cab of the rig clears the intersection before the light turns red they are generally ok considering other factors such as tail gates the likes of Dow don’t even consider.
To blame the guy in the truck for saving lives is the answer for the ignorant. Try driving defensively yourself and don’t tailgate big trucks going through town if you want to help.
Wow, first Harper and Ford, and now dow7500, seems to have had a bad week. Watch what you post, I wouldn’t want you to get kicked off this site. Debating with you has been at times… entertaining. ;-)
So rigs are too big and heavy to stop for red lights but they stop so fast other people rear end them. Got it.
If you wanted to find out try tailgate one in the blind spot interceptor. Let us know how that works out for you.
So you would rather run a red light into a soccer mom because Im tailgating? Thats all I mean.
Probably going to run out of free for all time, but on that topic, what do you think of the ABS brakes the logging association is fighting? (and I ask that in all sincerity, I do not know just saw the story)
Obviously I don’t condone running over soccer moms. I once had to stop in the intersection to avoid the choice. Its not something anyone wants to have to do, but it is a choice one is faced with at times… more so in the winter on icy roads. Could I have stopped short of the intersection, sure, but could I have lived with killing someone not so much, I’d rather be embarrassed parked in the intersection waiting for the light to turn green again.
Maybe tailgaters in town could get tickets more often and that would help. It doesn’t hurt for everyone to drive responsibly and look both ways as well as avoid tail gating.
As for the ABS system. I think its only a matter of time before it kills someone. A computer can not factor in black ice and its not like a car… they lock the brakes right up and take the control away from the driver. Its all good for anti jackknifing on dry pavement… why not just have the computer programer drive the truck is my opinion.
The trucks nowdays are coming out with a yaw system that detects even the slightest bit of truck roll and bang the trailer brakes lock up. On a hill or corner in the winter this is absolutely absurd and puts everyone at risk including the driver. Might work fine in California I guess. Personally I think the driver should be the one in control of the truck and not the computer.
The reasons they put all these systems in the truck is not because it gives one more control, but rather it allows the company to put anyone that is not skilled into the drivers seat and they can get down the road thinking they are safer IMO. Especially so with the automatics.
Keep an eye on the price of gas before you fill the tank people. Tonight Canadian Tire was charging 1.22 while most others were charging 1.13 – 1.14. What gives.
