Ft. St. John Mounties Seek Help In B and E Investigation
Fort St.John, B.C.-The Fort St. John Mounties are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects involved in a Break and Enter at the Michael So Jewelry Store at the Totem Mall.
On November 21st at 4:50 am the RCMP received a report of a vehicle driving through the West entrance of the Totem Mall and then driving into the Michael So Jewelry Store.
Video surveillance shows three male suspects got out of the vehicle and broke display cases inside of the jewelry store, stealing an undisclosed amount of merchandise. The vehicle then exited back out of the West entrance.
This is the second Break and Enter committed where a vehicle has driven into the mall.
We are taking into account the similarities of both break and enters,
says Cpl. Jodi Shelkie with the Fort St. John RCMP. On November 5th a vehicle drove into the East entrance of the Totem Mall and then into Apollo Avenue Store. Three suspects stole merchandise from this store. These investigations are ongoing.
The three male suspects in the jewelry store heist were wearing dark coloured hoodies, jeans and light coloured gloves.
The pick-up used in this Break and Enter had been stolen earlier from the Fort St. John area. It has not yet been recovered. The stolen suspect vehicle is a 1998 Dodge Ram extended cab pick-up. It is two-toned with purple on the top and grey on the bottom bearing BC licence plate 1132KD.
Anyone who witnessed either Break and Enter at the mall, or has information about the suspect vehicle is asked to call the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100. If you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or via the web at www.crimestoppersfsj.ca. A cash reward of up to $2000.00 will be paid for any information which leads to an arrest and charge.

Hah looks like the mall needs to install some steel posts inside the doorways to stop the drive-in, drive-out robberies. Clearly security at the mall is not as good as it should be for a sleepy little community. At least no one was hurt other than the insurance companies.
The mall needs 3 vicious German Shepards running loose after hours ! And maybe a couple of security guards with baseball bats !
Guns are better than bats!
A sleepy little community it isn’t.
Can you say “the wild west”?
