New Record Set At Festival of Trees

Prince George, B.C. – The Gala event at the annual Festival of Trees saw attendees in a very generous mood Friday night.
A new record was set for the auction price of a tree with the Finning “We Cover Lots of Ground” entry hitting the $100,000 mark before the Auctioneer bellowed “Sold”.
The Brandt Tractor tree ( featured above) and the Art Knapp-Dunkley Lumber Winter Dream ( featured at right) were also high sellers, with the Brandt tree netting $75,000 and the Winter Dream going for $25,000.
There was a further $120,300 collected with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation called on attendees to help raise dollars to help by a SPECT CT Scanner for the University Hospital of Northern B.C.
Foundation CEO Judy Neiser said the response from donors and attendees was overwhelming and offered a sincere thank you to all who contributed to the success of this year’s Festival“It is fantastic to see so much energy in support of healthcare in this region. We are truly humbled by such incredible support.”
The Festival of Trees is the Foundation’s major fund raising effort for the year. The dollars raised will go towards improving healthcare in the north
