MAP for Change?
Prince George, B.C- When it comes to serving alcohol at Civic owned facilities, the City of Prince George wants to know if it’s Municipal Alcohol Procedure (MAP) should be tweaked.
First developed in 1997, the “MAP” sets out clear guidelines for serving booze in a civic facility. It was updated when the pilot project at the CN Centre was established to allow alcohol service during Cougars games and special events.
The City wants to hear from you on the MAP update, and has scheduled an open house to gather your thoughts. That event is set for December 12th at the College of New Caledonia, 7pm in the theatre room #1-306.
Not able to make the open house? No problem, the City has also set up an online survey to take your pulse on this issue. The survey, available here, will also be available at City facilities and at various CN Centre events up until December 15th..

Flip a coin. Easy cheap and decisive. Gimme the money and I’ll flip the coin. Mega Duh! (again).
What .. no study on this!! what is this city council doing? I would suggest a study at a cost of at least $200,000 could give a few suggestions on the tweaking process.
How successful was the serving of Alcohol at the Cougars games, and special events.
With 1500 people average at Cougars games, and most of them either under 18, with the majority of the balance being seniors. I doubt that they are generating much revenue with the booze sales.
It would be interesting to see just how much revenue they are generating, however it probably will not be forthcoming anytime soon.
BUT… there probably IS like three hundred adults they can interview at those games. They don’t need any more than that…

I wouldn’t be so sure. Alcohol served in this manner is just about pure profit.
I don’t know anyone who actually enjoys the beer or even coolers at these events. It has got to be some of the nastiest stuff I’ve ever had.
that was a waste of time and effort….I doubt city will listen either…
I believe those who make donations to councils political ambitions will get their way…as usual.
Don’t forget Colemans 10 million dollar tax break for the local drug manufacturer, I mean brewery.
