Friday, December 6, 2013 @ 3:50 AM

Prince George, B.C.- Weekend number 2 for Operation Red Nose  is ready to roll.

There will be 19 volunteer teams on the road tonight, and 20-23 teams  on the road tomorrow  night.

Operation Red Nose is a free, confidential designated driving service that provides free, safe rides home during the holiday season in Prince George.

“Because of the increased demand we expect, we will have more teams out this weekend,” said Andrea Johnson, spokesperson for OPRN. “Operation Red Nose will be showing their colours in their red vests and handing out information about our service at pubs, restaurants and parties.”

So far, 238 people have registered to volunteer, however organizers would like about 350 volunteers for 2013. It’s not too late to sign up to help out the remainder of the season that includes Dec. 13, 14, 20, 21 and 31. Volunteers who are interested can go to www.ornpg.ca and apply directly online.

They can then print off the application and drop it off at the RCMP Community Policing Office on 5th and Brunswick.

Volunteers must be 19 years old, have a valid driver’s license and fill out the required Criminal Record Check forms that are included in their application.
